Yes, but it's because affairs make their marriages stronger ...

"This has been difficult on both families," said Darlene Ensign. "With the help of our family and close friends our marriage has become stronger."

In 1998, while running for Nevada?s Senate seat against Harry Reid, Ensign called on President Clinton to resign in light of his admitted affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky:
?I came to that conclusion recently, and frankly it?s because of what he put his whole Cabinet through and what he has put the country through,? Ensign said Thursday, becoming the first member of the Nevada delegation to call for Clinton to quit. ?He has no credibility left.?

Another "family values" right-wing hypocrite who can't keep his zipper zipped. Hey, wasn't this the same guy who authored the 'Defense of Marriage Act?" or whatever that nonsense was named. What a laugh! He didn't do too good of job of defending the sanctity of his staffers' marriage, now did he?

As we all know, Democrats do it, too...but the difference is that we aren't hypocrites about it and don't try to pass judgment on other people. When will you fools ever learn?

Ok this is how it needs to work in the future...

Love and Sex don't matter. How well you execute your responsibilities relative to the position you hold is what is important. If you are a H O O K E R than go at with gusto and determination. If you are a human do the same thing. Just wake up in the morning and do your job. It doesn't matter that at the end of the day we all have god given desires. If you act on them and you have not physically hurt anyone else, then why should the 15 minutes matter. And if you are a spouse of a cheating partner and did not know it, shame on you. You have not fulfilled your responsibility to know and love your partner. No one is a victim here. god I wish we were more like FRANCE.. VIVE LA FRANCE

I think the GOP sets high moral standards that may not always be achievable. Seems the Dems prefer gutter sniping where everyone has a chance to lead the way.

Nah, they are just trying to copy famous Dems like Clinton, JFK, and John Edwards. Maybe Spitzer could help you understand these ideas.

Since the four of them have been very close friends and
have been through a lot together,,, will the two husbands
be standing together on stage and the two wives be
standing together in front of the confessional cameras??

Or will Ensign and his wife be standing together and
their two long-time husband and wife friends be standing
together??

Or will Ensign and his long-time friend's wife be
standing together and Ensign's wife and Ensign's
long-time friend wife's husband be standing off to
the side together glaring at Ensign and his long-
time friend's wife??

Or will Ensign be standing alone, Ensign's wife be
standing alone, Ensign's long-time husband=and-wife
friends each be standing alone all with no facial
betrayal of emotion while Ensign, dabbing effectively
at tears, confesses barely louder than the background
violins playing something that makes The Beautiful
Ohio sound like it was fast enough to be played
by musical instruments??

Ensign was a member of the promise keepers.

PROMISE 3
A Promise Keeper is committed to practicing spiritual, moral, ethical, and sexual purity.

PROMISE 4
A Promise Keeper is committed to building strong marriages and families through love, protection and biblical values.

Good job walking the walk you talk Johnny!

Other countries are allowed to vote out the scum ANY time they feel like it. Why cant we? We had Bush for 2 years with like 6% of the people not wanting him tried for war crimes- ( likely his family) and we had to waaaaaiiiitttt for his term to end. Thats BS. If politicians are found to be bad for the country- we should be able to hold a quick election to vote them out before they can cause more damage or cover their tracks.

Most likely he figured it would be his political future... Especially if he wanted to defuse the situation before it came up in a future election.

If you can't keep a promise you made to your spouse, bail out. It is very hypocritical to continue serving an elected position with promises made to your constituents, when you can't keep your promises to you spouse. Constituents are less valuable to any elected leader than a spouse. Senator Ensign's integrity is worthless.

I don't know any Democrats who said its OK. I know many, such as myself, who felt that we the public had no right to spend $70 million in tax money placing ourselves into his bedroom. I felt soiled, and NOT by Bill Clinton. He deserved a reprimand, he WAS impeached. And all the while, Gingrich, while impeaching him, was bonging his secretary and getting up the backbone to tell his cancer stricken wife he was abandoning her. What punishment befell HIM, BTW?

And God knows what Larry Craig was up to...

This is a story about a man who cheated on his wife, nothing more. Partisanship has nothing to do with it.
Drum him out because it's poor leadership or a bad moral example, but it is irrelevant that he is Republican.
It's just an example of one "pot" calling another "kettle" black.
