- No one is surprised by a politican not keeping campaign promises.
I believe, however, that Obama is waiting to get personally involved for his second term. Just a guess.

Both Obama and his wife said very clearly during the campaign that they believed in marriage being between a man and a woman. He never made any direct statements that showed support for the gay community.
As with many issues during the campaign people ASSUMED that Obama would take the exact opposite position of the Bush administration and follow a liberal agenda on everything. In essence, in the euphoria of the campaign, no matter what he said everyone heard what they wanted to.
When the Obama s went on TV, in a family interview and talked about their belief in traditional family values and people came away thinking he would support gay rights more than a man with a gay daughter would not, then those people deluded themselves.
He has lived up to his what said, he just hasn?t lived up to you thought he said. - Reply to this comment
- Shame on you Mr. President. You of ALL PEOPLE should know what hatred and bigotry is all about. American has a huge percentage of gay people, and another huge percentage of straight people who support gays and understand our brain orientation. Barack Obama, I promise you that if you don't take a stand to give gays the equal rights they deserve, you will go down in history as America's worst president, second to Mr. Hypocrite GW Bush and third to Mr. Hate himself, Bill Clinton.

What's the big surprise? - Reply to this comment

- Libertarians believe all should be treated equally. Marriage for some and "pseudo marriage" for others is blatantly wrong. Posted by DefendLiberty

Uh let's see. Your Libertarian candidate, Bob Barr raised a paltry 1.5 million dollars, so either there are few libertarians or you don't put your money where your mouth is. For that he trailed Ralph Nader!!! LMAO...Ralph Nader the guy who aargued against compact cars in his book "Unsafe at Any Speed"!!!
It doesn't really seem like anyone gives a hoot about the Libertarians.
By the way everyone is treated equally when it comes to marriage. A gay and a straight are eligible to marry precisely the same subset of the population. So what's your beef? You don't want to marry or "pseudo-marry your sister do you? - Reply to this comment
- For the government to step in and FORCE recognition of gay "marriages" on any church OR FORCE recognition of that "marriage" on a state violates the very basic deliverance of our freedoms.
People better think twice before they spit on the constitution. States rights is what started the Civil War and I really don't think the south would come in second the second time around. "

- We are headed in that direction and according to my Bible, and my book of Revelations, we are already there. If the vote goes in the predicted manner, our 7 years starts in January...

That I am not sure of. I know we are close. But there are still things that have to happen. I am watching. I am listening. That is all I can do, stay ready and pray. So far the one thing I don't see is peace in the middle east. That is a big issue that has to come soon. - Reply to this comment
- Well, I am not in general the conspiracy type, but I have always since childhood wondered about the following quote:
"The real rulers in Washington are invisible and exercise power from behind the scenes." -- Supreme Court Justice Felix Frankfurter,1952
What's your take on that?

I haven't read up on Justice Frankfurter (lol) sorry the name hit a tickle bone...
Or the reason he said what he said...
But yes as a general statement I'll accept it...
So who are they? - Reply to this comment
- We no longer have that right. We no longer have a lot of rights. This country has sold its soul to be PC. Even when PC is Biblically wrong. If you know your Bible, you know where we are headed. All we can do is pray and stay ready.

Even MORE true! Our freedoms have been so twisted and turned, bowing to this group and that group, that we have NO MORE FREEDOMS at all!!

- Who is forcing gay marriage on churches?
lmao
Either I missed somethin, or this guy/gal is lost.
Evenin Slow, Rowdy. Nice to see you two having a conversation!
I'll lay low, and read...

You don't think that will happen? You don't think if the government steps in and forces states to allow G/L marriages that it wont eventually force it on the churches as well? I think that is a highly probable outcome myself. - Reply to this comment
- Oh, one other thing-
Bill of Rights
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
For the government to step in and FORCE recognition of gay "marriages" on any church OR FORCE recognition of that "marriage" on a state violates the very basic deliverance of our freedoms.
People better think twice before they spit on the constitution. States rights is what started the Civil War and I really don't think the south would come in second the second time around.
