- "For people that never smoked. SHUT UP! It is something that if you have never been addicted to you will never understand!
So thanks again to our government for taking more food off our tables and making it even harder to cope."

I smoked for 32 years and finally quit "cold turkey" 25 years ago. You can do it too, if you have the will power. - Reply to this comment
- This is not about smoking. This is about the "almighty dollar". I hope the public is going to be prepared for suicides. Taking away cigarettes is very dangerous. I believe smoking is as addictive as heroin. People can't even afford to feed themselves or their family's and by raising the prices of their habit puts additional stress on a already hard situation. For people that never smoked. SHUT UP! It is something that if you have never been addicted to you will never understand!
So thanks again to our government for taking more food off our tables and making it even harder to cope. - Reply to this comment
- Just another waste of taxpayer money. Next we will regulate food due to rampant obesity.
If someone wants a good example for our youth, we should insist that our smoker in chief quit Obama is a hypocrite.
How can our youth think it is wrong to smoke when the President is so addicted he can't give it up. He is a hypocrite. - Reply to this comment
- When you stand behind the government to remove the rights of a fellow citizen, do not be surprised when that fellow citizen is standing behind the government when they go after your pursuit of choice.
They are already going after freedom of speech under the guise of PC and terrorism and hate. When they have halted tobacco use, they will turn to the next and the next, until there is nothing left to go after. When everything that is bad for you or deemed unhealthy or offensive has been regulated out of existence. When everything you eat, drink, think, say or do is monitored and controlled, then what? Do we want a government that tells us when to think and what to think and why to think it? Or one that tells us what to say and how to say it and where we can say it? Do we really want the life of North Korea? - Reply to this comment
- AS I SEE IT --- Mike "Mainer Mike" Brown.
I love it how Phillip Morris has advertisements on TV about their website on how to quit smoking.
Isn't it great that Phillip Morris cares?
Yeah, right. - Reply to this comment
- It is all really freedom of choice on any LEGAL product. People will abuse anything but they are entitled to their choice as part of their freedom in the USA.

- Forcing its will on people. what a good little sheep you are for Phillips Morris. Since when is the protection of the population to be considered forcing its will on people. The government is not necessarily out to protect you Mr. ego fiend...it's looking to protect the rest of us from the likes of you
You must be kidding. People like you scare me because you fail to see the "big" picture. If the goverment is that concerned about "your" health, which they're not, then why are our lakes, streams, oceans, soil and air so polluted? They really care don't they? The FDA allows thousands of medicines to be sold to you and I that might have the side effect of death! If you're counting on the gov to protect you then I suggest you update your will.
What's with the ego fiend, good little sheep? You're not stooping to name calling are you? - Reply to this comment

- This is AS I SEE IT, by Mike "Mainer Mike" Brown.
I think the higher costs of buying cigarettes really are persuading people to stop smoking, as I know several individuals who are now trying to quit because of it.
It's about time Congress got it's act together to help prevent smoking among youth, or, for that matter, anybody.
Better late then never, I guess.
That's AS I SEE IT. I'm Mike "Mainer Mike" Brown. - Reply to this comment
- This is not about smoking. Its about the government forcing its will on the people. That is not how our government works. Washington works for us not the other way around. Get the government out of our businesses and keep it out.
