- Why is it necessary to celebrate the 100th birthday of Ronald Reagan? I mean, I can see celebrating Lincoln's or Washingon's, but Reagan? Was there a centennial celebration for FDR, CofC during WW2?
Maybe Reagan is worthy, I don't know. I just remember IranGate and the arms race and all those people who died of AIDS cuz the Moral Majority and the Republican Party thought it was God's curse on gay people and I guess hemophiliacs too, and the money was going to Star Wars. I remember all the anger and how administration didn't want to impose any trade sanctions against South Africa even though all those kids were shot to death in the townships.
He did give a nice speech when the Challenger went down and he and Nancy did have a change of heart over stem cell research after he developed Alzheimers. Guess you only have to subscribe to the "right to life" doctrine when it's in your political self interest.
Oh well, I guess there's no harm in putting up another monument on the Mall - unless of course you're a Korean War vet. - Reply to this comment

think about it...he's going to cut health-care to bailout Goldman Sucks and JP Morgan, he believes in Wall Street, he believes in AUSTERITY, he hates workers (as was obvious with car czar Steve Rattner stealing pensions)
What else could Druggie Limbowels and junkyard dogs Sean Hannity want from the guy?
he's keeping Gitmo Resort, he's not going to prosecute Bush and Darth Cheney for torture.

What an a**. I hope responsible Dems separate themselves from idiots like this one, much like I've had to dismiss Limbaugh (moderate Repub leaning Independent here).
Regarding the ceremony, President Obama was a class act and I believe he was sincere in his kind words regarding President Reagan. Kudos to him. - Reply to this comment
- We need another Reagan in the White House to unite the country. It was a great time in America that perhaps won't ever be replicated. Obama seems to be trying hard and appears to have some success depite our current economic situation. But, in all aspects, he is no Reagan.

And the fake conservative George Bush and his cronies already destroyed everything Reagan stood for. Not too sure, but ole' Ronnie probably wouldn't approve of Bush doubling our nation's debt, getting overly involved in foreign affairs, and expanding the size of the Federal Government.

- The person (impeachbhb) is a fanatic and obviously missed the points of President Obama's speech (or did the writer even bother to listen?). There will always be this crazy subgroup in American life, and they are very vocal and love to capitalize on fear. Hopefully if democracy works even half as well as it did in the last election, these fanatics will not gain much political ground again.

People like you are what is keeping our country divided. I did not vote for president Obama, but I see no signs of HIM dividing the country. You "hard right" knuckleheads really need to get a life.
