- i want my right not to be around some jerk with a gun. i want my right to assume any person with a gun that is not a police officer is a criminal.
i have a right to be safe from idiots with a gun. your right to carry a gun does not extend to any place where i might be hit by one of your bullets.
it is a sorry state where my rights not to be killed by some yahoo with a loaded weapon and a permit are superceded.
i guess i should thank these morons or my next letter to the editor which would have been about marriage being permission to have sex.
i am pissed. - Reply to this comment
- It's time for the Republicans to really walk the walk. They need to allow concealed carry by anyone who visits anywhere Cheney or other Republican leaders speak. They need to allow concealed carry by visitors to the next Republican convention. I want them to try to bring up a bill that allows concealed carry into the houses of Congress. Let's see if they really are against gun control.

- Some rationale and logical thought is actually now being applied by Democrats. Mainly because public opinion has changed concerning gun restrictions and the Brady Campaign has turned into a radical hate group that ignores all common sense. The gun control experiment from the "assault weapons ban" went for 10 years and was proven to be a failure. So now the anti-Constitution groups have nothing to base their radical rants on.

Oh....I see....anyone who is for stricter gun control laws is anti-constitution. Could you be more redneck? - Reply to this comment
- Thank you to our Congress and our President, for listening to the will of all of it's citizens, not just a few. Keep up the good work.
As someone who generally supports stricter gun laws, I hope this one doesn't blow up in our face later. Congrats to gun owners, please use this responsibly. - Reply to this comment

- "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms. . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
