- it's not in the water.
People like to "get behind" their favorite politician and if he or she opposes firearms ownership, the supporter will climb aboard that position, too.
Then learning the reasons to comes next.
It might be backwards but it is not a perfect democratic process. We all make do.
But it is a consistent truth that the politician who officially opposes gun ownership, and gets on the discrimination campaign against firearms owners, will be a politician who is VERY SOFT ON VIOLENT CRIMINALS! The ACLU position that these violent people are just misunderstood and disadvantaged. And should roam free.
And when these free violent people kill with an ax, pipe or knife it don't get in the news as much as when a gun is used! This is the discrimination campaign against law-abiding gun owners the news media runs.
Liberals fall for it.
It's not in the water! It's in the news!!! - Reply to this comment
- I'd rather have a gun and not need it than need a gun and not have it.

- It makes me someone who values my life and the lives of those around me. If I have to shoot someone to stop them from killing me or someone else, I will not think twice!!

If you shoot to kill, then you do not value life, PERIOD. If you valued life, as you so eloquently claim. Then you would have said that you would shoot to disable. Again, as I have said, the only thing that people like you are interested in is having the ability to kill someone that you disagree with. - Reply to this comment
- All the time we hear about violent repeat offenders getting out of jail then getting arrested for serious crimes even after having a rap sheet 5 miles long.

Boy you sure swallowed the line of bull hook, line and sinker. Why are you so scared? Do you know that the incidents that you are talking about are very VERY few!!! You would rather have the ability to kill someone without thinking twice about it than actually being responsible for their own actions. It has been proven that if a gun is present at an argument, it will be used. If not to kill, then to threaten and intimidate. It is human nature to do things like that. THAT is why they need to be restricted, so that people with hotheads and short fuses do not have the ability to follow those instincts. - Reply to this comment
- If you can't enjoy life without the ability to kill, what kind of person does that make you?

- And common, everyday people would prefer that those with no scruples or morals to NOT have the means to kill people. Mentally unbalanced people who perceive threats everywhere have no business being able to kill anything. If you can't enjoy life without the ability to kill, what kind of person does that make you?

If a person has no morals and would ignore laws against rape or murder, what makes you think they are going to obey any gun laws? It is a fact of life today that there are terrorists, and other dangerous criminals out there who would kill people for no good reason at all. All the time we hear about violent repeat offenders getting out of jail then getting arrested for serious crimes even after having a rap sheet 5 miles long. To force everyone to be defenseless against such a threat is certainly morally wrong. - Reply to this comment

Some people like to hike and even camp far from civilization. That's why many parks offer deep woods camping permits. Also, being prepared for the worse means you don't have to live in fear!

Dan, sorry to burst your bubble but when you spend your days posting about your "protection" and justifying why you need your "protection" everywhere you go, you ARE living in fear. - Reply to this comment
- Terrorists and other dangerous criminals will always prefer unarmed and defenseless victims.
It's as simple as that. - Reply to this comment
- Gee, I regularly ride my bicycle into areas that have rattlesnakes, coyote and mountain lions. No gun, just me and my bike. It must be terrible to live in such fear. I wonder how you people are able to even climb out of bed everyday.
