''They need to tax diet sodas too. That garbage is more dangerous than regular soda, by far. ''

Oh but wait, the artificial sweeteners are made by the holier than thou pharmaceutical industry who are probably behind this sin tax and the anti-obesity campaign just like they are behind the smoking ban campaigns! You will never see them taxed!

Well, I don't think it is a good idea to tax soda pop. So much that I secured the domain names stoppoptax.com and stoppoptax.org

I have these for sale if someone in the beverage industry wishes to protest with a website or some grass roots organization wishes to do the same. See auctions at GoDaddy.com or contact me directly.

"He argued that each penny of tax on a 12 ounce drink would raise $1.5 billion annually and lower consumption roughly one percent, improving overall health. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that a three-cent tax would generate $24 billion over the next four years." My calculations show it will be only $18 Billion over four years.

I'm personally not addicted to any carbonated soft drink and could do without, if I wanted to, and could quit at anytime if I wanted to, and I don't need it if I wanted to, and would stop all drinking and purchasing of soda....if I wanted to.

I could.

. o'boy , lets tax anything that we can and try to heal this country, universal health care will be appealing to ones who have never had health care, i'm glad to pay for yours at the same time i pay for my hard earned private health care, fool taxing soda ? its a stupid answer to a complicated problem. how much do you think you are going to get in return, after bho gives this to congress and has to spend more tax dollars to collect it. the solution will cost more to collect it than derived from the tax itself. or to make it simple for you a drop in the bucket for our new trillion dollar plus deficit. here is the democrat's view of "OUR" tax dollars $1.00 = 1.000.000.00 (1mil) $100.00 = $1.000.000.000.00(1bil) and the big trillion as seen by our government $1.000.000.00 = $1.000.000.000.000.00 (1trillion) they are throwing trillions around like its pocket change. am i the only one who sees this , i certainly hope not , and the comment about red meat you need to go and eat a tree , hope you enjoy it. i bet you that you have never had venison / deer meat before, very lean and tasty ,i harvest 2 a year and they provide my family hamburger meat, link sausage, pan sausage, and tenderloin enough for 1 year.and all this off my own land in Texas and no taxes , like i said tax everything and "we the people" will find the right answer ,or another way around it. quite honestly the people will soon grow tired of this current administration's taxation on the middle class , do you really think the rich and famous are going to absorb the burden of tax's ? brother take a look around , they don't care because they are rich ! and have good accountants. it's YOU who will pay back and feel good about it . right ? felling better now.
