- The childish finger pointing game played here by some of the college educated elites:
"He did it".
"He started it first!"
Very funny.
As long as we have idiotic populace playing these games, Washington will continue to screw us all, whichever party is in power. - Reply to this comment
- I like the part where neocons flag between blaming the current bad economy on 2 recent years of nominal dem control of congress, or 8 years of Clinton prosperity.
But never 8 years of w, or 12 or so years of 'pub congressional control.
Bad Comedy..... - Reply to this comment
- Nothing could serve America more than for the Republican Party to rally solidly behind the likes of Dick Cheney and, Rush Limbaugh. May they live long and stay in the spotlights..

8) Inspite of systemic shameful racism, BHO still got elected by a majority.
The PREMISE is valid, especially since congressional 'pubs lost lost lost.

- So the idea here is Republicans and conservative ideas are unpoplular?
In the last presidential election:
1) There was massive pro-Obama media bias
2) There was an unpopular incumbent Republican President.
3)There was a economic crisis (right or wrong these things get blamed on Presidents even though Democrats had control of congress for 2 years).
4) McCain was a very weak candidate (who incidentally is one of those "big tent moderates")
5) Viscious media attacked Sara Palin on a daily basis.
6) There was an ongoing unpopular war.
7)Statistically, the opposing party generally wins the white house after a two term President.
ALL OF THIS SHOULD HAVE SPELLED LANDSLIDE....BUT IT DIDN'T, OBAMA BARELY WON!!!
THIS ENTIRE PREMISE IS FALSE. - Reply to this comment
- cheney think the party is better with rush instead of powell?its totally unbelieveable that he would take a guy that knows almost nothing versus a 4 star general that served the country and does what right for us.powells endorsement for obama was not because hes was trying to move to the demacrats side,it was because he believed he is the right person to be president for today and change the image of the usa thats been tainted by people like dick cheney during the last 8 years.now cheney is justifiying how hes abused his power and want to call out on obama and his staff that hes putting people in danger?cheney is the one that put us in danger and hes the one guy no one should pay attention to for good

- Even the Dems are backing off tax increases, because they know that higher taxes are economy killers, especially in a recession. The Dems hammer Bush(rightly) for doubling the deficit during his 8 yrs (including 2 yrs with a Dem congress), and now it's supposed to make sense when their fiscal policy is even worse? The anti-hypocrisy crowd can't turn to either party.

Minor correction, they're against reinstating tax rates on the wealthy that may put the wealthy back on par with the rest of us.
Nevermind that the tea thing is a scam on them... - Reply to this comment
- Can anyone name one conservative position espoused or one conservative cause championed by Colin Powell? Cheney is only stating the obvious. People will flock back to conservative principles when they see how catastrophically liberal policies fail. Hopefully the Republicans will also adhere to conservative principles, like restraint in spending. Not holding my breath...

People flocked to the Democratic party after they saw the catastrophic failure of the GOP's policies. As far as I can tell, the only Republican principles are 1) hypocrisy, 2) distrust of science and rationality, 3) government intrusion into issues of personal morality and behavior, and 3) pro-spending and against any tax increases on the wealthy, no matter what the cost. - Reply to this comment
