[Joe never said anything that people have not heard for years from real doctors. I guess he thinks there are some out there dumber than himself. ]
[Posted by specialty8 at 11:41 AM : May 1, 2009 ]

maybe you should have someone read that back to you ... since your contradicting your own statement.

so you're saying what he said is common sense ... yet every other representative of a major transportation system is saying he was wrong ... and everyone is safe ... and there's not increased risk. and you're saying he's dumb.

what he said is true ... and claims that being in the presence of large crowds is not an increased risk is not true ... not for swine flu, not for regular flu, and not even for a cold. these things are spread by contact w/ others who are infected.

so how is he stupid for saying it how it is ... using common sense ... and avoiding exposing your risk to things you could be avoiding if it's not necessary for you be in that space/crowd?

["There's not an increased risk there," Besser told the Associated Press. "If you have the flu or flu-like symptoms, you shouldn't be getting on an airplane or you shouldn't be getting in the subway, but for the general population that's quite fine to do." ]

but there's nothing to stop those w/ symptoms from getting on the subway, or bus, or plane ... so if you're within the spaces these people are in ... and they have this bug ... then your chances of geting it are higher ... despite him saying there isn't an increased risk ... there is so ... otherwise why is he telling those w/ symptoms to avoid these places?

it's amazing that the one who told you as it is is getting all the flack ... and all the others who are allegely the 'voices of reason' are lying ... and not very well i might add.

"If you have the flu or flu-like symptoms, you shouldn't be getting on an airplane or you shouldn't be getting in the subway, but for the general population that's quite fine to do."

SHOULDNT be and do are two different things! there's a lot of things people SHOULDNT do but do anyway, so you cannot count on boarding a plane with everyone else feeling perfectly healthy, in reality EVERY crowd you go in, be it an audience at the opera, rock concert, bus to work ,subway, plane on in line at the supermarket- you WILL find someone nearby coughing.
Every time I hear a live recording or a live audio broadcast where there's a crowd, invariably you hear coughing.

You go to the supermarket and the dam cashier has a cold and even though they cover their mouth- with their HAND, they are handling your GROCERIES with that same hand, now you are handling them as well as the pen on the counter to write a check, you get in your car and you've probably transferred some of the virus to the steering wheel from your own hands.
And this is how the stuff spreads.

"Air travel has a vital role in our economy, which could use all the help it can get."

Yep, so lets cause a pandemic to spread coast to coast killing thousands all for the benefit of the TRANSPORTATION system! perfect and 'merican way to do business.

"Buses and trains are as safe as any other public area," said William Millar, president of the American Public Transportation Association,"

Oh REALLY? so a crowded bus with people coughing and getting nose slime on the handles and doorknobs is as safe as bein gin a public park?

Got it!

Joe Biden told his family the exact same thing I told mine. Don't get around crowds in confined spaces unless it is absolutely necessary. I would give that same advice to everyone. "People can't stand the truth". The media won't be flying commercial except in emergencies.

Sleep well folks, Joe is next in line to be President and Pelosi after this idiot. Pelosi is acting as president now, but this would make it offical.

In the '88 primary this fool had no hair on top. Suddenly there's signs of growth up there. So it seems he had a little transplanting from his butt end. Unfortunately, the doctors must have transplanted that part of his anatomy as well. That's why he's so fluent in speaking "CRAP" out of his mouth. I can say this 'cause I voted for this ticket even though this moron was VP candidate. As he said, Hillary would have been a better choice!!!

Actually his advice is right on--The flu season wanes in the summer as people spend less time in confined areas!Im sorry the travel industry has their underwear in a knot--God forbid a health crisis affect profits. Joe Biden is no dolt--check out his congressional record. He was sharing with the public what advice he gave his family
and he is a remarkable parent.I find it find him giffs included a breath of fresh air--he really cares about Americans.

Look folks. This is the same moron that asked a man in a wheelchair to stand up and take an applause from the audience. The one that said in effect "Obama cleans uo nice" and "You can't go in a 7-11 store without speaking (Eastern) Indian". He's a classic pol that;s been sniffing his own shorts too long.... 36 yrs as a senator. That should say it all right there. Frightening thought....a heartbeat away from POTUS!!!! God Help US fools that voted this idiot into office.
