- OBAMA is doing exactly what CHAVEZ did in Venezuela: bribe the lawmakers and make them shift to his party. Thats how Chavez obtained the majority that allows him to rule VENEZUELA as a dictator.

- The talipublicans have no one to blame but themselves for this debacle. They have hounded and abandoned every single moderate in the party and have become a complete caricature of what Goldwater originally was. They are so out of touch that only 20% of Americans actually call themselves republicans!
20%! That is the lowest number since polling started. How do they expect to return to the halls of Congress, let alone the WH with that kind of support??
The problem with the talipublicans of today is that they have no connection to reality AT ALL. Just doing the math tells one that the party does not have the necessary votes to get its members elected.
If they think (which apparently they do) that bellowing the same tired lines about gay marriage and abortion are going to lead to election victories, they could not be more wrong. How many losses is it going to take for that fact to sink in?? They had 8 years to pass a constitutional admendment against gay marriage, 8 years to outlaw the right for a woman to choose whether to have a baby or not, 8 years and they COULD NOT GET IT DONE.
Why?? Because the majority of Americans DID NOT WANT IT to happen. Americans have finally woken up to what the repukes actually represent and it ain't the common man or woman. They represent the wealthy, big business, big industry and care nothing for the average Joe or Jane. It has taken almost 40 years, but the repukes are finally showing their true colors and it isn't red, white or blue combo of our flag, but green and white . Green for the money loving, power hungry perverts they are and always have been and white for the narrow-minded anti-immigration cowards they still are. Until they actually practice what they preach.
God, this is soooo fun to watch. I knew something was wrong when the talipublicans controlled both Congress and the WH and still could not get the Artic National Refuge opened for oil exploration. I thought then they were in trouble.
They will never get back into power until they abandon the rightwing freaks, who are the least empathetic people evahand start talking sense and caring and responsibility and actually act on their words. - Reply to this comment

this is a watershed moment for the republican party. They are on the verge of disappearing. If they can not get republicans that appeal to the independents in northern and purple states they will not survive.

- Well know with the Dems in total control they can take full blame for all the problems that will result from their tax and spend programs, their unafordable healthcare plans and their tax called cap and trade. In 2 years, the country should be ready to turn them out as they will have made the country a shambles. Their leadership, Frank, Rangel, Murtha, Dod, Waters are ethically challenged and Pelosi and Reid protect them. It is a sad day for the US.
