- ...if there is no investigation into these acts, and those that may be gulity never brought to justice, how can we ever ask another government, the World Court, or the UN to investigate on behalf of the US if this were perpetrated againgst us....We have US soldiers doing prison time and have had dishonorable discharges for acts they were told to carry out by their superiors. It is time now for these superiors to join them if that is the case.....these memos we see becoming public were never classified because of national security reason but rather for political security of the past administration....those days are gone....let's not forgive and forget, but get to the truth... we will be better because of it if we do.

- McCain's suggestion that we should just move on and forget about investigating Bush administration officials, is nothing more or less, an assertion that GOP politicians be given
carte blanche freedom to violate the laws of man and God, and be allowed to do whatever they want, whenever they want!
The last eight years that policy was practiced on a moderate scale, and we've seen the result! Is America and the world
better for it?! Obviously, NOT!
If the Democrats fail to attain justice for the public by pursuing Bush officials, they lose whatever SLIGHT credibility they have over the GOP! And they will be losing
seats the next election---or worse... - Reply to this comment
- This leaves a lot of pent up, angry people who feel "unfulfilled". I'm glad I'm not one of you.

Yea, lets see, democratic victory in 2006, and solid majorities, President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, etc in 2008. Yea. Who's pent up? LOL
Bitter nasty necon. Go clutch your gun and/or crucifix more - I hear it can help!

- Democrats carry around "Bush Hate" like a festering boil, it's been enlarged by a "propaganda campaign" run by their elected officials. It's getting real painful for them now and they want it lanced, if it doesn't happen then they get to carry this infection for the rest of their lives.
I think the Democrat's in congress have created a "monster" that they don't know what to do with now. Their planting of the seed that "Bush Lied" in their talking points has worked and them some, too bad they haven't followed through with prosecutions for their listening audience. It looks like "prosecutions" is the only release valve for these people and I'm not sure that their elected officials are gonna throw it for them. - The question is, were the memos genuinely written examples of legal incompetence or documents deliberately concocted to cover a blatantly illegal program. This needs to be looked at, and if the latter is the case, prosecutions must ensue.
Did Cheney, et al, say is this legal or did he say, probably implicitly rather than explicitly, this is what I want to do, make it legal. - Reply to this comment

- Repugs spent 10 years and over 100 million in taxpayer money investigating a BJ.
Now they say they don't want to investigate an administration that broke national and international law? - Reply to this comment
- Those who advised torture are being "held accountable" in the court of public opinion Senator McCain???........How about Mr. Rove flaunting Congressional subpoena for the political firings of US Attorneys?? How about Scooter Libby??.........Our founding fathers developed a government with 3 branches for a reason....checks and balances!! Let's move on?.......You made Abu Ghraib a cornerstone of your Presidential campaign before the economy collapsed .How long did it take to move on after being held prisoner in Vietnam?
The United States does not torture period! - Reply to this comment
