- What is not noted in your article is that a twin Air Force One is flown on all presidential trips and there are 3 Marine One helicopters flown at all times to confuse any would be assailants. The helicopters also juggle their positions in flight in a procedure called the "shell game". All the fuel for the presidential aircraft and ground vehicles are flown in Air Force cargo planes, C-17's and C-5's. The actual amount of fuel used on this trip for the 2 Air Force One's and the 3 Marine One's is approximately 18398 gallons not including the support aircraft. Another example of president B.O.'s hypocracy.

- The total fuel consumed is over 16000 gallons. Here is why. There are two Boeing 747-200 jets that are designated to be used as "Airforce one. They are identical and one is designated SAM 28000 the other SAM 29000. While only one can be "Airforce one" at a time (which ever one the president happens to be in) those two sister planes ALWAYS travel together. Where ever the President goes he always has both jets with him.

- Hypocrites!!!
I can't believe that Al BORE didn't hop on his personal plane and head to Iowa also. Though, maybe he's trying to lose weight since his fat a** is destroying the planet. - Reply to this comment
- I believe your fuel stats are incomplete. A quick Internet check confirms that fuel consumption approximates 5 gal/mile at cruising range (depending upon the load and discounting any additional weight the presidential plane might have for defensive items) but it takes a great deal of fuel to get to cruising range - about 3,000 gallons. So they probably burned a minimum of 3,000 additional gallons per takeoff or 6,000 more. There is also the backup plane (if used) plus tons of fat journalists all going to see a totally predictable event. Wow!! Some carbon footprint if you are of that religious persuasion.

- well according to Republican John Boehner's interview on This Week last Sunday... All cars and planes put out is carbon dioxide...which has never been proven to hurt anyone. So it's really a non-issue.

- Earthday isn't about saving the planet - its about IMAGE! GHG emissions control isn't about preventing climate change - its about REVENUE! The whole Green Movement isn't about saving the planet - its about CONTROL!
Funny how everything in the first 100 days of this presidency has also been about IMAGE, REVENUE, and CONTROL.
WAKE UP AMERICA! YOU ARE GIVING AWAY EVERYTHING YOUR FOREFATHERS GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR! In the name of feeling better about yourself, you give up the very freedom that can actually save the planet! - Reply to this comment

- What can we really expect from a champagne fascist? I love how these sanctimonious hypocrites push for global warming and green technology from the comfort of their private jets and privileged lives...What do you think they do with all their money and ours, if they're not donating it they are spending it on stuff that leaves big fat carbon footprints...And no, they do not deserve it if they are going to mandate that we the sheople must live by a lower standard.
