I always like dimwits like this guy who post usless one dimentional information.

What the information dosn't tell you is that money doesn't go to the people of the state but it does go to build roads to haul all the produce, raw materials, energy etc..... to feed blue state fat lazy couch potatoes.

That and to install and maintain all those nuclear missles. Which we think should be put in places like Manhatten which will be hit anyway. Why put them out in the middle of the country where people would have to move to after a missle strike!

Secession is treason to the union. Those who advocate it are traitors.

So what's all the fuss about blue states already made the case four years ago. Now look at all those BLUE state whiners on here!

Could the Blue States Secede?
Is there a legal way to opt out of the Union?
By Sam Schechner

Even before Sen. John Kerry conceded defeat in the presidential election, some bitter blue-staters had begun joking about the possibility of seceding from red-state America. Which makes you wonder: Are there any provisions in U.S. law for a state to opt out of the Union?

But the legal situation wasn't always so clear cut. Before the Civil War, the legality of secession was an open question, and Southerners would frequently threaten that their states might ditch the fledgling nation. The legal argument, framed eloquently in the 1830 Senate debate between Daniel Webster and Robert Hayne, centered on the Constitution: Was it merely a treaty among the many states? Or was it the founding document of a singular country, a compact of the "people" cited in its opening clause?

Succession talk brings home the point that the US Government has clearly overstepped it's purpose. Obama with his "social justice" attitudes, is using the 60 year history of public assistance to justify stealing the wealth of the working American family. Both with direct taxation, and crazy deficit spending, next a death tax to lay the final blow to your life's work!. He is giving away $8000 for fist time home buyers! Is this US Government's purpose? 43% of Americans are not paying any taxes, or worse, they are getting free money they did not earn... is that the purpose of the US Government?

China ? borrowing from the US ? LOL.
Now, you don't have to look at Brazil, you can look at what Coolidge, Harding and Hoover did to the US : that's your philosophy and it gave us a great recession ...

Excuse me, but REAL Americans accept that other Americans have the right to disagree with them.

I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend your right to say it.

Only half the voters turned out, and just over half of them put El Psycho Obumma in office. If you think 27% of you are going to tell the rest of us what we can and can't do, and "threaten" us with YOUR government, think again. (...)

Voter turnout for the 2000 election was 51.3 % and only 47.9% voted for Bush (48.4% for Gore). So your 27 % have to compare with the less than 25% for Bush. Yes, think again.

If any of you out there agree on what this president has done in his first 100 days you need have your head examined. esp his spending package. Read up on some of Brazils history and find out why they were bancrupt as a nation for for almost 5 decades. They did exactly what Obama wants to do. They are still bancrupt, but now see a dim glimmer of hope with some of theit exports, guess what country too? USA. Why the USA because the USA is a capatilist nation for now and has wealth. A move to Socialism is going to bancrupt this country and so doing so will hurt other countries that are already socialist countries that depend on CAPATILISTIC VALUES and handouts for a living. WHY do you suppose all the POOR SOCALIST NATIONS OF THE WORLD BORROW MONEY FROM CAPATILIST nations, Because Capatilism works not socalism. so we can depend on some other CAPATALIST NATIONS handout for charity. Sorry I have to much pride for that.

I see the Lib trolls are here, bashing Texas now. Here's some news for you. There are other States considering the same thing. Your beloved Government, is flat out treasonous. You limited creatures, are clueless. Only half the voters turned out, and just over half of them put El Psycho Obumma in office. If you think 27% of you are going to tell the rest of us what we can and can't do, and "threaten" us with YOUR government, think again. Where I live alone, there are more firearms than the entire Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force own. But, you keep believing in your "change". I'll keep my guns and religon, YOU keep the change. In your false pride, remember, there are 3 of us for each 1 of you.

Nobody kept the other half from voting. If it mattered so much to them who was President, then they should have gotten up off their fat, lazy butts and gone to the polls.

But since they didn't and those of us who weren't too lazy to vote chose Obama, too bad.

That's how it works in a democracy. Too bad you're too weak to be able to handle that. Stop whining just because you lost.

Let 'em go. I've never had much use for that state to begin with...a buch of arrogant a-holes and illegals. They should take the eastern third of New Mexico with them. As for the military bases there, AF basic would have to move, but the bases could stay. America would just work up a status of forces agreement with the Republic of Texas and it would be just like any overseas assignment for the troops.

After 8 years of being forced to deal with an incompetent president from TexASS, Texas in my mind does not have a right to screw things up for the rest of us and then threaten to secede. I propose a new amendment in which a state only has the right to secede if other states have the right to kick the state out of the union if necessary. I'd gladly give Texas the right to secede, if we had the right in the early 2000s to kick Texas out of the union when they tried to force Bush onto us.

Takes some nerve to screw up a country over 8 years and now play the victim.

wow another hot governor like sarah palin with secessionism and all- this issue will prempted by newt- read his old contract on america- reads like the articles of confederation- perry does not have the clevage like rush though-

an independent Texas- I think Texico sounds great for those crackers- let them protect their own border- ha ha- good ridence plus we could get the US Senate and Congress free of the morons they send there- like Phil Graham that started this economic disaster and don't forget GWB- Thanks Texas you drain all of our taxes with your border problems- we will make a new border fence too keep you Texicans where you belong- the Mexican drug cartels would run your state in two weeks if they don't already- you think the rest of America cares what you idiots do? Have a nice day-

What turns me on about the Texas Secession is the loss of two Rebublican seats in the US Senate. With the red state of Texas out of the picture the US Senate can go unopossed with it's Democratic controlled agenda.

The 27 House seats will vanish to.

Say "Good bye" to the red state of Texas!~!~!~!~

What does Texas Governor Rick Perry and Fidel Castro have in common?

They both swore their allegiance to the USA and then later recanted ... like traitors.

Texas traitors are not the patriots they purport to be.

Go ahead Texas and seceed and make our day!!!

The rest of the country - the REAL USA, would love to relocate the Johnson Space Center from Houston to the REAL USA.

The rest of the country - the REAL USA, would love to relocate the NFL franchise Dallas Cowboys, MLB franchise Houston Astros, and ALB franchise Texas Rangers to the REAL USA.

The rest of the country - the REAL USA, would love to accept transfers of US military operations to the REAL USA, since all of them in Texas will be closed.

Texas can find someone else to underwrite their mortgages. I don't know if the federal government will cut off all social security and medicaid benefits to Texas Citizens, since they won't be part of the REAL USA.

The Texas oil industry powerhouse can find buyers for their gasoline, since the REAL USA will gladly build new refineries in the REAL USA and give new jobs to REAL AMERICANS. The REAL USA won't import gasoline from Texas if they secede.

Go ahead, make our day!!
