- Well looks like CBS is still left. Way to smooth over the new left government on bashing Christians. I guess you all still believe that guns run around and shoot people. Timithy McVeigh had ties to osama. Or did you not watch the 9-11 report on Nova. If he was far right and hated muslims, then he wouldn't have worked with them.

Pretty puzzling, isn't it.
Why do you think they're called Neoconservatives? Either way, you know they'd mess it up... - Reply to this comment
- brianbwb-2009, what is your source on technical sophitication and ideology?
I always thought that the bulk of the left was historically comprised of lower educated people. Considering education levels, research has shown that with every 10% increase of graduation rates, murders and assaults drop by 20%, and motor vehicle theft and arsons decrease by 13% and 8% respectively (Lochner, L., & Moretti, E. 2004. The effect of education on crime. The American Economic Review, 94(1), 155-189).
Please correct me if I am wrong. - Reply to this comment
- According to the two reports---Left wing are benign cyber terrorists, but right wing are violent.
Gay riots in California, Weathermen Underground (bombings, riots, etc.) ring a bell?

- ''Gay riots in California" - appleteatea
Huh???
There is obviously a threat to this country by right-wing nuts. I fear for the president every day. These crazies don't like blacks or gays or Jews or Arabs of Mexicans......They want you to be good "christians" like themselves and if you are not they will shoot you or say "leave the country". - Reply to this comment
- I wonder why is it that our Veterans are so (historically have been) susceptible to the propaganda spewed out by the radical extremist anti-Ameican Right Wing Media?
The Republican Bush Administration consistently cut Military Veteran Benefits during their 8 year run while commencing two ground wars. The Bush Administration fought the Democratic Congress "bring me a clean bill" President Bush said, when they included (pork barrel) long term benefits for ex-Iraqi War Veterans that have suffered from but lived through traumatic head and brain injuries from improvised explosive devices that were included on the Iraq $pending Supplemental Bill.
The Military has always been treated poorly by Republican Administrations but yet, it's the Military that continues to be a major supporter for the GOP. To me, it's kind of like a battered house wife that will not leave their husband? - Reply to this comment
- "...The reports are shortsighted, biased and otherwise flawed. Right wingers can't possibly be cyber terrorists and left wingers can't be violent?" Posted by appleteatea
Where did you get "can't possibly"? Been listening to rush again, eh?
The report simply states the likelihood, and it is statistically valid that less technically sophisticated people tend to be right wing, therefore more prone to commit acts of physical violence.
Those who tend to lean left are statistically more technically sophisticated, therefore may be more familiar with the complexities of computer hacking.
That is not to say that neither can adopt the tactics from the other, it simply serves as a guideline as to what types of harm may be more likely to come from which groups. - Reply to this comment
- The Republicans blame Obama. What a joke. This study was obviously commissioned by the Bushies, who found themselves calling out their own supporters. If you want to point a finger at someone Republicans, look in the mirror.

- "...Please show some respect to the airman who evidently risked his/her life in a military aircraft to protect the freedoms we enjoy!" Posted by appleteatea
Respect is earned, not an entitlement. If, as he did, the person calling himself "airman" cannot read for himself, and posts silliness based on the Limbaugh version of drugged reality, then he deserves no respect.
Second point, I have no proof that the poster is an airman, and even if he/she is, I also have no proof that they have done anything to protect anyone's freedom. - Reply to this comment

If you feel slapped, then you probably should. Anyone reading the report knows that it is not what Limbaugh and his ilk say it is, if you haven't even read it, yet still take umbrage, then you deserve to be slapped. - Reply to this comment

Yo airman, only an abject, yellow bellied coward would want to speak while hiding anyway, so what is your beef?
You are guaranteed free speech by the constitution, but the other side of the coin is you will be held responsible for your speech, and that is what the neos don't want, because they are cowards.
Speak your mind son, man up, and accept whatever consequences arise from your words. If you are brave enough to say it, then you should be brave enough to be responsible for it. - Reply to this comment
- Assessment???I hope that people do not think this is just a Republican outrage! I am Dem but this is just too much!
Has anyone else noticed that Almost everyone appointed by our Pres is a criminal, crook of some kind or someone so far to the left I am wondering if the Pres had them imported from Russia or some Islamic country?
When they get their hand caught in the cookie jar they try to explain it away by blaming it on right wing extremests.
Please someone tell me why is it ok for Homosexuals to march in the streets, and enter churches to disrupt services, illegal aliens to march and congregate all over the country DEMANDING civil rights that belong to Americans , Islamic organizers to enter our schools and the school system demands our children participate in Muslim religion, and all this is perfectly ok with the news media and everyone in the government, but let Christians, Patriots ,honorable veterans returning from serving and protecting American interests overseas, ,and Americans wanting to protect our Constitutionlly guarranteed rights we are immediately 'assessed,' as right wing extremests who are going to be cause for the Government to be keeping a sharp eye on. Not one bit of proof but Timothy McVey! Let that misguided soul rest in his own grave. He had nothing to do with the current situation.I think this is the first step toward reinstating the draft so the government can decide , from all those who the Pres has said must have MANDATORY VOLUNTARY service to their country, exactly which ones he or Napalitno will decide fits their agenda.,By the way how can something be voluntary if it is mandatory? See how they speak with a forked tongue.
If it had not been for people of every kind wanting to protect themselves and our country, willing to give their lives for it, we would not have a free United States of America for these idiots to live in.
If Napolitano cannot find out who made this assessment and fire them , she needs to be fired herself.
This is the most outrageous report I have heard this week! Well Par for the course I guess.
As a Democrat, I thought the most sickening way the President disparaged the USA at every meeting or speech he gave in Europe was about as low as an American especially the President could get.
I am tired of every person to speak out of the Obama 'team' blaming everything on BUSH. It sounds more like this Obama 'Team' was led thru a brainwashing course with the only things remaining in their vocabulary is "Blame it on BUSH","That is a right wing extremest view', "It was just simply an oversight,{the millions of dollars not paid to the IRS), or evidently tho not spoken, do whatever you want to, the American public is so dumb they won't pay attention or if they do so what? Just tell them WE Won
Where is the transparency? Where is the accountability?
So far I have seen neither. Just a bunch of arrogance while they are hollering about BUSH' arrogance.
If he was arrogant at least it was to people who want to blow us up or ruin our country
With Obama it is sheer arrogance toward the American people who elected him and gave him a great opportunity to do something great for our country.
With all these czars and watchdogs he has appointed it seems he is setting up either a Socialist or Communist government all the while telling the gullible Americans he is trying to deceive.that it will bring transparency and accountability. He has a Cabinet post or leader for everyone of these offices. Why does he need a czar to oversee them?. I think the only people who are not dis illusioned with Obama are the people who are actually getting the highpaying bailout jobs.. - Reply to this comment
- "You need to understand who is intimidating whom......it's the religious zealots who are behind the push to deny a minority the same rights and responsibilities they take for garanted. If gays or gay groups ................"
--------
People living a gay lifestyle are not minorities. They are represented by members of all ethnic groups, as are people who are trapped in all sorts of other aberrant behavior. The truth is, people have choices and no matter where a person ends up as a result of his/her choices...they can change.
Would you tell a drug/alcohol abuser, or someone trapped in another destructive lifestyle choice, that s/he cannot change?
I know for a fact they can! - Reply to this comment
- The biggest threat to Americans isn't foreign terrorists. It's our government itself.

- Accusations are not necessary, the wingnuts have already confessed to being terrorists.
It only remains to turn the neocon tactics Bush used in Iraq and Afghanistan against the extremist neos, as soon as one of those nuts starts something, wipe out the whole bunch.
That is how they think, and if you think that their approach is correct, then the only US response is to eliminate the terrorist threat, and any sympathizers. Isn't that, after all, what we are doing in the middle east, and south Asia? - Reply to this comment
- Calderon has said that guns from the U.S. are a big factor in the problem, particularly since the federal ban on assault weapons expired in 2004. But while the U.S. is taking measures to reduce gun trafficking, Napolitano said the government was not looking to reinstate the ban.
"Well, that simply is not part of the plan that we're talking about here."
Well, I am relieved.
As more and more unstable right-wing Americans are arming themselves during the recession caused by their kin in the Republican party and conservative America, it is GOOD TO KNOW that our democratically elected Democrats in the White House are assuring us that the government HAS NOT INTENTION WHATSOEVER of reinstating a ban on automatic machine guns and other high powered weaponry designed for killing humans in violent and quick ways. - Reply to this comment
- This morning, I watched Fox & Friends and their allies dump all over the administration on this DHS report with special emphasis on the veterans. Later, I heard a number of right wing talk show hosts do the same thing. All of these right wingers have this in common; they have not read the report and work only to spread hate. Even Rep. John Boehner works that side of the street.
I did what they did not, and will not, do. I read the report from cover to cover. In the part dealing with the veterans, the report states the truth - our returning veterans are targeted by right wingers to think as they do. Nowhere in the report, does the report say that our returning veterans will turn againist the USA or anything like that. A huge difference between what people like Rush/Hannity/F&F are saying.
My advice - download and read the report. It is only about 10 pages long. - Reply to this comment

This is OUTRAGEOUS. Now she suggesting that innocent U.S. manufactured and/or transported assault weapons, the honored American legacy of our most treasured second amendment rights is a "big factor" in drug-related violence plaguing the U.S. Mexican borders.
And somehow insinuating that there's some evidence to suggest that the Bush Administration's allowing of the un-American ban on assault weapons in 2004 to expire has some correlation to this.
Disgusting. Why that would be like suggesting that allowing an enormous tax cut for the rich upper class parasites of our society to expire as the nation's debt sky-rockets in support of financial terrorism and extremely corrupt Defense contracts for a military spending ten times what the rest of the world spends all together, is somehow akin to a tax hike on tea.
Since when is intelligence propaganda like that seen by the Bush Administration's imminent threats of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction not suppose to be the love-child of the Republican party and right-wing America?
Filthy transparency and truth when we have a "free press" and fascism working for real American causes?
Offensive. Unacceptable. - Reply to this comment
