- The Bible is a religious document. I am not a Christian, why should I be subject to your religious beliefs?

Wrong again, the Bible is a history book of the world, past, present, and future, and it is God's Word to His creation. His revelation.
Nobody said you had to be "subject" to anyone's religious beliefs. The only ones wanting to do that are the mlilitant minority homosexual perverts who continue to try to push their immoral lifestyle into our government in their neverending efforts to redefine marriage.
You're asking for total chaos. Just watch and learn. The more and more people like you continue to push for moral absolute morals and principles to be thrown out of our laws, the more and more chaotic and diorderly this country will become, as modern history CONTINUES to show us. - Reply to this comment

- If you believe in the sactity of marriage, I would think the very first step that should be taken would be to outlaw divorce.

Your logic STINKS! Divorce is a sin too! Got it? But what in the world does DIVORCE have to do with living a life of constant perverse and disgusting sexual sin, homosexuality??
You're comparing apples to oranges, looking for any excuse to make for legalizing Sodomite marriage in America and wrecking the FAMILY system, aren't you? - Reply to this comment
- As long as you realize that your view of the bible applies to YOURSELF and those that believe in the same things you do, and not everyone else around you, that feels differently.

The Bible isn't about how someone "feels" mr atheist, and you out of all people have absolutely no authority to interpret that way, as you are an ATHEIST. or are you??? - Reply to this comment
- It is amazing how so many people get up in arms about issue that do not affect their lives but will be the first one to deny the rights of a person who their religion says they are "different" from them.

If you continue to try to Sodomize a country (by pushing homosexual marriage as "legal") then the very core of America is under attack: FAMILY.
It is that simple.
HOMOSEXUALITY IS THE ENEMY OF FAMILY VALUES AND MORAL PRINCIPLE.
And no matter how many people kick and scream to try to legalize this sexually perverse and destructive sin and redefine marriage as such, it will still remain wrong and it will continue to attack FAMILY.
That is the problem with it. It is immoral, it is perverse, and it destroys the whole concept of FAMILY. 50 years ago in this country there wouldn't even be a debate over this issue.
just goes to show how America's moral value system has been on a slow, steady, yet RAPID decline. - Reply to this comment
- Concerning equal rights. The Constitution of The United states of America Article IV, section 2 "The citizens of each state shall be entitled to all privileges and immunities of citizens of the several States." This means any state in which a contract is created stays valid though the party or parties may move to other states in accordance with the law.
A marriage is a right that the two parties have a legal ability to enter into. It is not a privilege. With very very few exceptions any person of opposite gender can get married in any state.
Now, ion the case where the states allow same-sex persons to marry, due to Article IV section 2, those marriages must be recognized by every state and territory of The United States of America.
In The Constitution of The United States it goes on to say, Article 6 "no religious test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."
One can say that a union between two person would indeed reflect a public trust.
If one wants to have a wedding in a church and all that entails that is fine, but isn't a wedding by a Justice of the Peace just as binding?
Those proud Americans that which to enter into a public contract with the person they love should have the right and ability to do so without me or you or anyone saying they shouldn't.
A same sex couple should undermine an other person marriage any more than an inter-racial, inter-religious or any other type of marriage that has at one time or the other been illegal in the past of the United States.
It is amazing how so many people get up in arms about issue that do not affect their lives but will be the first one to deny the rights of a person who their religion says they are "different" from them. - Reply to this comment

- Marriage is not a "RIGHT" you chaotic fool, it is a privilege ordained by God Himself all the way back to the Garden of Eden when He created woman for man because man needed a partner. God saw that it was good.
But militant atheists such as yourself are so lawless that you will try to push your anti-Biblical worldview and force everyone to adhere to it until Kingdom come, LITERALLY.
