whatever I want. And...I''ve decided to marry my horse.

Welfare for the rich is the only thing the Republican Party has ever stood for in the last 100 years.

I wonder why the billions given to banks and corporations is never considered welfare. Tax breaks, grants and bailouts are considered helping companies grow and prosper.

Why do we not want to help families grow and prosper?

Many of my views are conservative but the Republican party has been hijacked by the neocons and the lunatic fringe. Contrary to popular belief,Rush, Hannity et al do not speak for the majority of Americans. If the GOP wants to remain viable, it must move to the center. This is the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. America needs action, not mindless obstructionism.

The Stimulus Package was design to create a "Welfare State" for all the states to turn them "BLUE". Welfare for All is the Democrats line in solving all of the problems we have in the economy?

No! The Stimulus was our New Presidents plan to stop the Economic Meltdown left to him by the Worst in our History and the Incompetent Republican Party. It would help if you poor people could keep up!!

Be it ever so humble, there''s nothing like Communism. Momma bird vomits chunks of the worm to her starving brood. If you don''t get a piece, you die.

It must be sad to have NOTHING but this insanity to post. You really haven't a clue what Communism is do you there sparky? You are just using ANYTHING that is put in your small little mind to drag down our New President. Come on and admit it, EVERYONE knows it already!

Hit the button too fast.

I voted Democrat b/c even though I have been a registered Republican since 1977, I got tired of the fear mongering and the attacking as unpatriotic anyone who doesn't agree with you; when Ann Colter published "Treason", I waited in vain for Republicans to disown her. When Republicans become the party of ideas again -- instead of soundbites -- I will start voting for them again. Because I'm a conservative, but I'm a thinking conservative.

States have been taking money for 60+ years; the GOP governors who are complaining are trying to shut the barn door after the horse has left the barn, gotten married, raised kids, had grandkids, etc. Which tells you how sincere they are.

That said, some of the money is available only if the state maintains or even increases funding for specific programs (Congressional Democrats are not big fans of "block grants"). Some states may not be in a position to do that, and may therefore have to forgo some of the federal money. Either that, or cut some other program even more than they were planning to in order to shift funds.

BTW, I voted Democrat b/c although I have been a registered Republican since 197
