are americans the stupidest people in the universe, or what? I mean right wing Americans, of course. California is the 6th largest ECONOMY in the whole world. when Bush brought it to its knees the last time with his Ken Lay CEO buddy jacking up the energy costs by taking energy off the grid, the slid in California caused the 2001 recession. GOP are the stupidest, most evil people on the planet. They are just allowed to go on TV and lie because all the networks are run by right wing CEOs.. We need to get these crooks and fruit cakes out of office. Neandrethals did survive and grew up to be in the GOP. I truly think they are a different sub species

States like CA have a bloated population because they probably include all of the illegal aliens taking money away from citizens and legal immigrants. CA is a sanctuary state just like my state of IL.

Everyone, when they are hiring, has a choice of who to hire. If there is a Gringo or a Mexican applying for the job, there''s no way you''re going to get in trouble for hiring the Gringo. The problem is, the Gringo is going to want breaks, higher pay, sick time, family time, safe and clean working conditions, and a shoulder to cry on. The Mexican just wants to work. That''s why there are millions of Mexican workers in California.

It looks like population was a major deciding factor. They certainly needed to do "something" and this is their first experiment.

It could have been worse on the pork, so I give them credit for paring it down some. This is all experimental, folks, and it may or may not have the desired effect. Now we watch and see.

Fuzzy,

California is the country''s most populous state... that computes to substantial tax dollars paid in to the treasury (just from individuals... not to mention business).

Please look at the country''s second most populous state -- Texas at 2,803,249,599... the second highest amount being spent from the Stimulus package.

Last time -- and time after time -- I looked, Texas is a solid "red" state in national elections and the Republicans maintain a majority in the Congressional delegation.

CA also has the greatest electoral vote ... with Texas second.

Nancy Pelosi didn''t move all those people to her state just to get money!!! (Neither did very powerful, former congressman Tom DeLay, for that matter).....

Your argument is biased, partisan and totally unsound.

how did they come up with this allocation?

certainly not by input dollars!
because we all know California is 3 billion in debt,
in other words they don`t contribute to the nations economy!
they haven`t for the last 5 years!
hence we can see, Nancy Pelosi dispersal in all this!

sincerly Fuzzy

Wrong. California pays out more in revenues to the federal govt than it gets back each year. Maybe we could take back all those years of extra taxes we never got back...from...your state?

So the real question is - why didn''''t Obama coordinate this expenditure effort with other countries ?

Why didn''''t he ask other countries to start stimulus packages at the same time ?

Could it be that he just didn''''t think of it ?

Actually, Iraq started their stimulus March 20, 2003...

The U.S. has exported jobs and imported job seekers. Without stopping the refugees and illegal aliens from accessing public programs it is useless to create jobs, they will only go to foreigners.
