- The pork has been strategically placed in this bill to occupy the obtuse and barmy minority party.
Negotiating with the Republicans allow for them to justify their existence and also serves as a distraction from their subversive tendencies thus, enabling for the real work to be accomplished.
This will be the game from here on out%u2026.hmmm, maybe they should put taxes on churches%u2026and take away gunz%u2026.and, %u2026. - Reply to this comment
- YES to stimulus. Roosevelt tried it and it took this great country of ours out of the deepest Depression since Bush''s. CHEERS to everyone for working hard to get it right.

- At least he has an open mind to options. He most certainly is NOT like GW Moron: "Either you are with me, or you are against me."

- Look at the Republican dimwits completely freaking out over the bill the Democratic President created to save our economy and country. Where were all you dimwitted "Conservatives" when Bush was on his waste and giveaway spending bonanza? oh that''s right, you were all voting for his bills, you remember the spending bills that put us in this mess in the first place. So now we should listen to Republicans try and dictate once again what this new bill contains? the Republicans have zero credibility, scheming as always to help themselves to our money, more tax cuts? gee, why would the wealthy Republicans in DC want MORE tax cuts? why is this all they ever seem to care about? could it be they pay the most taxes on the money we pay them? Obama wants to invest and create jobs, while Republicans want to use this bill meant to restore our economy to gift themselves more tax kickbacks.

- NO TO STIMULIS, Japan tried it several times and it did not work.Never has a country spent its way out of a recession NEVER.Corporate tax cuts are the only way for businesses to create long term jobs. States and cities have over spent on Social Programs for illegals and now need a hand out.No handout, let them cut these bloated programs and get rid of these guest workers, and enforce our immigration laws....Get the government out of businesses and especially Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac,then let the market settle the score for failures.

- "Well, let''s think about it," the president said, seizing on the weatherization example." Obama was being extremely kind to Katie who has no inkling of what she is talking about. She was going to appear the expert but Prez gently reminded her of her dumbo status.

- It doesn''t matter what any of us think because niether Republicans or Democrats listen to the real people. I voted for Mr. Obama and I still think he can do a great job, but I am very dissapointed in all the pork in this stimulas bill. I would like to see health care reform, Nancy Peloisi out of that office, better tax breakes for everyone, Thomas Geithner out of the IRS, if we didn''t pay our taxes we would be in jail, he doesm''t need to be heading up the IRS. But all in all I live the American dream. Work two jobs, study for my masters, and will be dead before the student loans are paid off. So I say don''t count on the government to listen to the real people its just not going to happen.

- Here is a cure for the economic woes. Deport all illegals in this country. Start with Nobama''''''''s aunt, who has been court ordered to leave but won''''''''t.
This same woman lives in public housing. Gets public assistance, but can still afford to go to the inauguration & balls.
Think of the money that could be saved by sending these LAWBREAKERS back to their hovel of a country.
If they cannot abide the law & enter legally send them packing.

Maybe if our leaders screw this country up enough, nobody else will want it either! Hey.....maybe that''s the plan. I take it back. It''s brilliant. When the entire real estate market crashes, we can pass the Homestead Act of 2009. Stake some new claims. My neighbor has a sweeeeeet tri-level I''ve had my eye on. - Reply to this comment
- In my industry, one estimate is that 20% of your employees do nothing but try and keep up with government paperwork for EPA, OSHA, FAA, etc. Tax expenses are above that and this stimulus bill will increase those considerably. Then people ask why I want to close my business here and move it overseas!

I doubt that 1 of every 5 employees spends their entire time doing paperwork for the government in any industry. If so then 1 out of every 5 employees in your industry are incompetent. Also please cite where the stimulus bill raises taxes. - Reply to this comment
