- Of course their pay will be frozen. The next cost of living adjustment won''t be until January 2010.
And, if they are Federal employees, their pay is set by CONGRESS not the President. The only way to freeze their pay is to freeze all Federal employees'' pay. - Reply to this comment

Considering that the White House staff was just hired, so what. Who expects a raise immediately after being hired. So him putting a freeze on salaries means nothing. I well remember some of your anti-Obama posts - they were lurid to say the least. It is a sign that our country may yet recover from its recent fall from grace when some of those who have fought against the newly installed president while he was campaigning for the job are now willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. "O" will inevitably scr&w up but I believe he, at least has his heart in the right place. Our best chances lie in our setting aside partisan differences and attempting to work together to help return the United States to display the greatness we still have but have done so well to hide.
Thank you for your trust. I believe it will not be misplaced

LloydBest1 - President Bush was villified by some people every day for eight years. It was unfair and to do the same to President Obama would also be unfair. President Obama is in office for one day and already people are criticizing him. As you point out, he will probably make some mistakes. - There is one federal job, Computer Specialist GS-12, that does not even require a college degree or any college credits in computer science. Most other professional and scientific federal jobs require around 30 hours of college credit in the field of work. The GS-2210 does not and it it should. It is being abused by managers to promote cronies and friends.

The reason these naysayers are out in full, they have followed for 8 yrs a man I am sorry to say is a spoiled brat and a bully and the dumbest most pathetic president we have ever had in our history. Obama has inherited something that is almost impossible to fix, I still put my money on Obama he is very intelligent and isn''t looking for grandeur, he only wants to fix America, with our help. - Now he needs to freeze the pay of all federal employees. They are unionized yet have no competition, receive annual COLA increases around 4 percent, cannot be fired, and many do very little work. All of them in the ranks think they deserve promotion to a "thirteen", GS-13, which pays over $90k. Some agencies (especially the one Geitner will head) are promoting people without a college degree to 13s. Others have a goal of making half of their journeymen 13s.
