- Forum Communications reports: %u201CThe state Canvassing Board has carefully handled its duties in the U.S. Senate recount, a board member and Minnesota%u2019s top judge said. Supreme Court Chief Justice Eric Magnuson, who sits on the board responsible for declaring an election winner, said regardless of the outcome, citizens and the candidates - Sen. Norm Coleman and Democrat Al Franken - need to be assured %u2018that everything%u2019s been looked at and looked at carefully%u2019 by the five-member board. Magnuson was satisfied that occurred, particularly during the board%u2019s inspection of nearly 1,500 votes that the campaigns challenged during the statewide recount. %u2018It%u2019s apparent that everybody%u2019s worked really hard on this and if there were any nits to be picked, they%u2019ve been picked,%u2019 he said.%u201D

- a few moments ago the minnesota supreme court denied coleman''s claim that 650 absentee ballots were not counted.
next step: state delares franken the winner.
next step: coleman sues
next step: minnesota supreme court dismisses coleman''s suit.
next step: franken is MN senator
next step: franken joins caroline kennedy as the 59th democratic senator.
next step: a few republican senators die and democrats replace them and no more filibusters. - Reply to this comment
- Here''s the thing- if an idiot like "yurajackass" is against Al Franken being seated, then we should all be for him. Never trust a politician without a sense of humor. Al''s books and radio program gave us all a good sense of his common sense and intellect. He will be a thoughtful progressive Senator who will do what''s right. I have no sympathy for the whining, mean and nasty Republicans who ran this country into the ground and still don''t have the humilty to admit the damage they have done. Go get ''em Al!

I heard no such outrage when Kenneth Blackwell delivered Ohio for Bush in 2004. - Reply to this comment
- If he''s properly certified, they need to seat him. Republicans need to get over themselves: they can''t steal one EVERY election. Maybe they''ll do better in 2012.

- I love all the Republican bed-wetting going on in this forum.
You lost a recount. The courts couldn''t be bought this time. Cry me a river. - Reply to this comment
- In a perverted sense, one must admit that franken, if the ACORN fraud prevails, could become the best symbol of the d-crat party: a pathetic, non-funny clown. He''''ll also provide a new and even better justification for their jackass symbol.
