One BIG problem with that is that the "good guys" ALWAYS think they have caught the "bad guys" and so they are "justified" in using evil means (torture) to get at "the truth". Another BIG problem with that is that TORTURE IS NOT A RELIABLE MEANS TO EXTRACT THE TRUTH from anyone! It DOES NOT WORK! If you are tortured, you tell your torturer what you think he wants to hear, to get him to stop torturing you. That DOES NOT get the truth. If the tortured person has a secret, then the torturer DOES NOT know the secret, and the tortured WILL NOT reveal the secret... instead he will tell you something he thinks you want to hear... basically what you already think you know.
Torture is EVIL. There is NO JUSTIFICATION WHATSOEVER.

Yes, it tells everything to me. And you and I are on different planets.
I won''t dispute your 80%. The American people had been quite effectively brainwashed by Bush, Cheney, Rove & Co.
However, remember that old adage "You can fool some of the people some of the time....."
Those of us who were in the vast (20% +/-) minority during that time were ridiculed for demanding the truth! We were even called "unpatriotic" for daring to challenge the validity of Bush/Cheney''s claims.
You can be certain that I''ll never forget that for as long as I live!
But our wonderful American people can only be fooled for so long. And I am so very proud of my fellow Americans. They proved quite strongly how they felt at the polls!
This next four years should be very interesting!

Your explanation does not account for millions of us who knew nothing about Obama in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, etc, yet doubted Cheney''s motives even then.

We are in agreement (since you have properly defended my correction of Bob''s grammar which appears in the opening line of his article).
Bob''s poor grammar aside, his national and global audience would benefit from an in-depth discussion with Vice-President Cheney to address in detail what has become the major issue of his tenure (namely, the responsibility of the Executive branch to protect the safety and the national interests of Americans, while also defending the integrity of the United States Constitution. This has proven to be is a critical issue since many constituents believe that their Executive brance took liberties with the Constitution which were well beyond what was necessary to properly protect Americans.
