No, didn''t vote for Obama or McCain. But I guess it''s OK for you to say "nig". Not everyone can get away with it.

He can''t quit smoking. He needs the smoke to go with the mirrors.

He won''t smoke in the White House? If he has the habit, he will sneak one in anytime he can. (wonder if he inhales)

If McCain or Palin had the habit, it would have been headline material and the anti smoking organizations would have been up in arms.

Obama-- The Marlboro Messiah

I would prefer that Obama not smoke but I know it is difficult to quit. It''s a personal demon which he will have to overcome but it does not reflect on his ability to run the White House. No one is perfect...we all have areas where we can improve. Wingnuts, quit being so holier than thou. It is very unattractive and hypocritical to boot!!!!

The more our Dear Leader smokes, the more tax money he raises for his government.
The less our Dear Leader smokes, the more he has to raise taxes on us.

Light up, Obama!

Just a personal weakness, like overeating, no big deal.

Maybe he could talk to Hillary''s hubby about changing to cigars. I don''t think his use was quite as bad for his health (as long as he doesn''t get caught.)

SInce most of the people on here posting still think of it as a habit need to look a little deeper into the subject. It is not a habit, but an addiction like drugs and booze.

He''''s weak and if he really wanted to stop smoking, he''''d do it cold turkey. I pity any of those who will be working with him, since they''''ll be exposed to secondhand smoke and increase their chances of getting cancer and all because Obama is selfish, ignorant and weak. He should know better. He must smell like an ash tray. Yuck!

You are a MORON! Millions have trouble kicking the smoking haibit, and he said he''s smoked a couple of times during the campaign! Since you apparently have NO bad habits, maybe you should have run for president!

ANYONE, who can defend Bush (after the carnage he''s caused), has to be either:

a. Incredibly Ignorant or

b. "Jebbie"

One of the best minds in our country?
You sure have low standards.

Perhaps you should go to Texas and perhaps "learn" from the "idiot savant"! He might be able to "enlighten" you.

I had no idea he smoked. I hope he does kick the habit for health reasons. ''Member all the stuff they put into cigerettes to hook ye. It would be nice if he can quit cold turkey for his heart. He is not the first president that smoked. A smoker has to want to quit and quit for him/her first. Smoking is banned in alot of places. He will have to go out doors to smoke but quiting is better. I asked my friend why he quit. He said* I made my mind up I don''t want to smoke and went cold turkey* . I sent him out doors to smoke. HIS BODY MADE HIM QUIT FOR GOOD.

Cigarettes are hard to give up, but I think Obama would do better to go at least a month or so before expecting to be more comfortable. The urges seem to diminish in intensity after that period of time though they by no means go away; they are only softer and less compelling. He might also try hypnosis. If he is a good candidate, this can be very effective.

If this guy lacks the mental discipline and will power to stop smoking then how can we trust him to weather the pressures of the presidency?

And yes, I went "cold turkey" after smoking for 36 years. Tough, but a little courage and a lot of self discipline can do it.

Posted by rplat at 01:46 PM : Dec 08, 2008

Good for you. I used Chantix to quir after 22 years. But, the two issues that you mention are totally unrelated. Smoking has nothing to do with his ability to be President.

Okay, let me spell it out for you in the most elementary of terms: Bush = no cocain drinking, no smoking, no more cocaine = COMPLETELY DERAGNED. Obama = occasionally smoking = One of the best minds in our country who represents US rather than his own agenda.

Is that easy enough for you to comprehend?

Posted by CitizenUSA at 01:55 PM : Dec 08, 2008

If you think that Obama does not have his own agenda than you are dilusional.
