Hillary''s appointment may be null and void. Her''s appointer Mr. Barack Obama may ineligible himself as president of the U.S. He hasn''t proved he''s natural born U.S. citizen. See: http://www.theobamafile.com/ObamaLatest.htm

I love the way the Republican party is referred to here as a "fringe group".

After wars based on lies, redefining the Geneva conventions, retroactive immunities and finessing of the laws and Constitution to suit one political agenda or another (like torture, the war, illegal immigration, patriot act, etc) we ALL--no matter which party--should be hesitant and leery of ANY action which requires exceptions, sleight of hand or back handed interpretation of the Constitution to suit the desires of individuals--including the President Elect.

It seems to me that this must be a fairly common problem with a fairly common solution. Senators are often appointed to posts whereof the emoluments have been increased. If there is a problem, then the courts should decide.

It is truly funny when people begin to think that the vast right right wing conspiracy to mess up everything democratic started with George Washington, Ben Franklin, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson. Now I understand the left''s concern, however in dealing with the Constitution principle must rule; and if allow a president to Arbitrarily ignore a clause of the Constitution under principle you must allow on any occasion. Secondly, I would ask Democrats if they want Richard Nixon''s Constitutional standards to rule the day, be careful what you ask for.

"Not a single story about those who appear to have a case that Obama is NOT a US cit..." - sincity_q

That''s because there is NO REAL CASE.. it''s just more bogus crappola from the lunatic wing of the party of obstruction and destruction, the GOPigs.

The matter of Obama''s citizenship is completely settled... except in the minds of the tiny little peabrains who can''t accept that he will be president.

I''m suprised congress doesn''t raise their pay to be equal as a work-a-round instead of dropping the head of state salary?

Ooops, BREAKING NEWS - Congress to raise...

And so it begins. Right wing nutbags howling about everything they can think up to stop progress and make themselves seem important to get back into power and do nothing for the American people. They are sad. Very sad.

This is not 1974 and the president elect is not Richard Nixon.

Our new president needs to clear the record. We the People deserve that small respect.

Judicial Watch, a totally impartial, unbiased, non-partisan group similar to the folks pushing the ''born in Kenya'' garbage about President-elect Obama; similar to other impartial groups/media like Weekly Standard, Salon, National Review Online, etal. A reliable source on which to base our own opinions. Impressive -CBS must be hard up for news stories to quote some radical bunch.

How is it that the Main Scream Media can surgically isolate this story but so completely neglect a half dozen challenges to Obama''s citizenship in the SCOTUS????

Not a single story about those who appear to have a case that Obama is NOT a US cit... but Hillary may be unworthy as Secretary of State because of some obscur law hidden under miles and miles of bureaucratic gobbledegook?

Me thinks the press is walking a fine line between being merely owned and subject to being hung for treason.

Responding to "orgone" who wrote:
"Hillary Clinton . . . is above the law and has had her hand on the controls of the government for the last 8 years. Anyone who think that today''''s problems are Bush''''s fault is not paying attention to the facts. The Democrats were in charge! Bush''''s job was merely to pass or veto bills sent to him by the Democrats."

This is remarkable; the DEMOCRATS were in charge for ALL of the last 8 years, and the only thing a President can do is to sign or veto laws sent to him by the Party that controls all-powerful Congress?? Do you really believe that? Well then, here''s a little American History: Ever since FDR, and probably since Teddy Roosevelt, the Presidency has been the dominant branch of the federal government. The President drafts the budget and sends it to Congress (who can tinker with it, but it doesn''t go into effect unless the President approves the final product). The President is the Commander in Chief, and is the only office holder who is elected by the entire country. The decision to go to war in Iraq was BUSH''S DECISION, approved by an overwhelming majority of Republicans and a smaller number of Democrats.
Besides, even if your misreading of American History was correct -- ie, that Congress really runs the show, how can you say the Democrats ran Congress for the LAST EIGHT YEARS??!! The Republicans had solid majorities in both houses for SIX of those years, from 2000 through 2006.

%u201CNo Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time . . . .%u201D U.S. Const., Art. I, s 6, cl. 2."

To me this is speaking of "postitons being created during the term of said Senator, for the ''said'' Senator" . The Office of S.O.S. has been in existance much longer than Hillary has, This does not apply to her.
