He would have fit right into the politics of 1930's Germany. His sort are why the country is in decline and the way out is to first stiop digging the hole deeper. Turn the country around putting people to work first, then worry about the debt when the tax revenues, including from the rich for a change, start to increase. But then his contributions come from them, right?
The American left is completely lost, held together only by their disgust at Palin, I mean Trump, I mean Bachmann, I mean Perry. As the political fortunes of various center right candidates shift the progressives just move their same old tired hate cliches on to the next target. If the left had ideas that Americans liked they would have no trouble winning every election. They don't. The only comfort they can find is their core belief that most people are really stupid. Offer something that we can believe in and we will listen. If not just keep shouting Moron, Moron. It makes you feel better.
Here is what I see friend. The center right has various and sometimes conflicting ideas about how to go forward. The only thing I hear fron the left is tax the rich, Perry is an idiot, tax the evil corporations, Bachmann is retarded, etc etc. Regardless of his rhetoric President Obama's actions have swung so far to the right lately you must consider him a right wing extremist as well. Read the comments on this site. Where are the good ideas from the left? I don't hate you my friend, and I'm not your enemy. I do think we are heading off the rails, and I don't believe larger Federal government is the answer.
Dream on. I think the American right is held to together completely by a line in the sand against any new tax increases. It's totally preposterous. Any person with a couple of accounting classes under their belts can see that along with cuts, a modest increase in the amount of revenues is needed.

And Stu, except during major recessions, the Federal revenue has increased every year in my lifetime. What we have NEVER tried is spending less than the previous year. A good accountant can tell you how fast you are going into debt, doesn't mean they have any idea about wise spending. I will give you a couple points for at least trying to offer some reasoning.

Republican primary voters are not like everyone else. For starters, study after study shows that republicans have IQs that are 30-40% lower than those identifying as Democrat or other. Republican primary voters tend to be religious fundamentalists who interpret mythology as literal history as Perry does. These types are known to be at the "mythic-literal" stage of development, which is pretty low on the human development totem pole. A mythic-literal "believer" cannot discern literal truth from mythology. This is one fact that makes Perry a very poor candidate for POTUS. A vote for a climate liar republican is a vote against the survival of the human race.
