Must be nice to have a fall guy to blame, he did not start the wars or come up with tax cuts that only benefit the rich .Our country is so misinformed turning on each other. Its time for change , its time to do what is right for our country and if we all disagree maybe its time for civil war.I am so sick of greed ,i cry when i look at the photos of famine stricken nation and then i get mad because this is what the world is turning into. Most of us dont even know what is right and wrong anymore.
dan1511...glad to see that your leaving the country..sure would hate for you to live to be an old person, an old person who would make the economy worse...just what country are you going to that abuse the older people? Many of the senior who are getting social security paid into to it all their working years...they money wasn't put into the Social Security fund but was put into the General Fund (just like the Governor's here in Illinois did with the retirement funds paid into for years by the state employees). This move started when Johnson was President and continued for years..Bush left this country at the doors of finincial ruin..even if Jesus was President e couldn't have corrected the economy of our country. Until we bring our troops home, stop paying for people who get SSI for their drug problems, bring our manufacturing back, stop paying people for disability when they are not disabled and some of the other scams done to us, we will never recover. We, need taxes raised and entire nation, everyone, needs to pay taxes. The poor and middle class should not pay as much as the millionaire and billionaires. Also please remember that we have many millionaire and billionaires who serve in Congress and they are self serving in that they don't want to pay more taxes, they however, want you to pay your taxes so they can make more money off you and yours. The whole thing is a mess and I as a 70year old person with a 82 year old spouse and married for 38 years a wonderful man do not appreicate people complaining about our social security money...I get $535.00 after paying for my Medicare....you think I can live high on the hog for that amount and that my small amount of money will break the Federal Reserve Bank....no it won't. I worked from the time I was 13 until I was 60,I never made much money, I have never had any type of aid for anyone or any government organization. Many of the people of our age are the same way and many of the men were drafted into the military. So saying, stop picking on me and mine...you go on to another country and live, we won't miss you with your negative comments about us old people...we are NOT going to wither up and die just because you think we are hogging all the money. If you think I get too much money, I'll give you my check and you can give me yours....or are you a government employee who get his money from the taxpayers?
If I made spelling errors please don't write to me about it. after all I am an old person and I have probably lived too long for dan1511 Wonder how old people in his family are and if his parents or grandparents, aunts or uncles receive social security and how they feel about his stupid statement. I've been around the block a few times in my years and I don't take no crap from anyone who writes or tells me that I have lived too long and are taking up their money or their space. What idiot would write this anyway?
dan1511 is right.
What are you, at 70, going to do if you live several more years?
Almost everyone agrees that unless there is a total overhaul of Social Security and Medicare that they will go under in just a few short years and face a total collapse!
Then, what happens to folks like you who are completely dependent on SS and Medicare?
The truth has to be faced now and tough decisions need to be made.
Going after the wealthy is good political talk to get the not so well to do riled up. But, that is all it is for. Just talk. You don't ever see the Democrats really putting forth any plan that would ever pass even among their own members. They do know how to manipulate the voters, though. Gotta give em that!
cattiej i feel this was lost on dan1511 but not on me so i will tell you their is a bigger problem here then ppl collecting ssi for drug use ,try living in fear that everyone you know is trying to set you up for no reason at all, maybe even this person has been a vic. of being corrupted at a early age, maybe this person was molested at a age when his feet didnt even touch the floor and told not to tell anyone and when he does tell someone that was doing the same thang to him and they knew each other so they devisea way to to shut him up by taking his dad away from him and this person is like **** i will never tell anyone again in fear i will loose more then what he has lost already *(maybe you do not know the facts or even talking about the right ppl.)
and maybe to reinforce it by saying his dad told him not to trust anyone because their are ppl. out their try to set us up.maybe you have some facts mixed up
and just maybe this person quit those drugs that numbed the pain without drug treatment because it was time he tells everyone the truth without being accused of being a drugy that has no credability ,and also because it was time to tell everyone he has had help this whole time and its time to set the facts on the table.
Welcome, bloggers, once again to the Slappy McJohnson aka Slownewsdayo, "Hours and Hours of Sarcasm Show". Slappy, um, Slow, is here for your entertainment, and your entertainment ONLY. Take nothing seriously, folks, and, um, learn nothing serious. BUT, have a GRRRRRREEAT time, now!
The republicans that are driven by the tea party is going to pay in November 2012. President Obama knows what to do but these "no compromise idiots" may have set in motion our next major depression.
The Super Wealthy got everything they wanted, no questions asked, with the "TARP-Banks-Wall Street-Auto Industry" bailouts. The Super Wealthy got a humongous Welfare Check last December when the Bush Tax Breaks for the Super Wealthy was renewed. And NOW, we are told, they are getting everything they wanted yet again, namely, a complete exemption from having to share in the onerous burden of reducing the deficit, because there's no potential here for a roll-back of their Bush Tax Breaks (Welfare Benefits) for the wealthy.
The U.S. media refuses to even deem this to be significant, probably because THEY benefit tremendously from those "Welfare for the Wealthy" hand-outs and they surreptitiously silence the issue by shifting focus to the "Default Crisis" - with the curt remark "something for everyone to hate," and with the errant national anthem "pass anything - anything is better than default." Well there's nothing in this plan for the Super Wealthy to "hate." The super wealthy are the only ones being rigorously represented in Congress, in the White House or in the media.
Nope. There wasnt. In order to have a surplus, that means there is no deficit (duh!). And with no deficit, the debt cannot increase.
Sssoooooo....
Please show me the Department of Treasury numbers on the debt where, during the Clinton of Bush Administrations, the debt either stayed the same or went down.
The Treasury Department figures you post are not the ones that explain the surplus. Your lack of comprehension -- though you would never accept that we can see it daily -- does not negate what any person with knowledge of yearly budgets knows.
Thinking YOU know better than everybody else is just your ego talking, nothing more.
Forsanity, that is the same nutty economics our government is using to say they cut the budget...when they actually increase it. And people like you just take it in as gospel, never realizing thayt whaty you are saying makes absolutely no sense!!
You cannot cut when you are increasing. Let me give you an example.
Say I tell my wife that we can afford a new car, but it cannot be over $30,000. She goes out and says she wants to buy a car that is $60,000. After tyalking with her and telling her that is waaaaayyy over budget, she goes out and buys a $40,000 car.
When she gets home, I say to her "you just blew up our budget!! We cant afford that!!"
And she says "But I cut (saved) us $20,000!"
Do you see how stupid that is??? She didnt cut anything, she didnt save anything. She put us over budget by $10,000 in this example.
Same thing goes with what we are talking about. They say "well, we cut the RATE OF GROWTH by $550 billion...so we have a surplus."
Nonsense!! If you have a surplus, then you are bringing in more than you are paying out.
Its so funny! Its like me saying "Hey honey, if we just ignore all of our credit card payments, we are actually not in debt!"
Well, I actually didnt think the end was going to come as quickly as it is. And I am revising my estimate. I think we have almost reached the point where even the States wont be able to save this.
The doom and gloom crowd are at the root of our economic malaise.... in a WORLD held together "on paper" (now actually "on hard disc", confidence is very important.
Maybe the Mayan thing will be a breach of the internet that starts taking all the money and giving it to individual people and charities, while the vile and craven are wiped out... like at the end of the movie "The Saint"...?
Slow, my quote that you are supposedly posting is in reference to what? Try to put any quote in its context, instead of taking the coward's way out and just making it say what you want it to say!

How many pens does one need?

No. Koch Brothers and R. Murdoch (the Australian propagandist) will not allow that.
They will turn their propaganda machine on full to prevent that
Not exactly to the benefit of the American public in general, but HUGELY beneficial to a few's insatiable GREED !
There was NEVER a surplus.
Sssoooooo....
Please show me the Department of Treasury numbers on the debt where, during the Clinton of Bush Administrations, the debt either stayed the same or went down.
We'll wait.
You have been lied to and you continue the lie!
Please explain how the debt increases, but we are bringing in more than we are paying out.
This should be good!
But, if you can follow:
Clinton had two years of on budget surpluses, however deficit spending in prior years added to the debt.
If you could understand the cumulative nature of debt and the yearly nature of a FY budget, you might grasp this.
I am not expecting someone with your narrow mindset to understand this. But I thought I'd try.

Wake up!
It tires me trying to debate with a willfully ignorant ideologue. I am not a fan of futility.
You twist your pretzel all you want, the GAO does not agree with you, nor does the OMB or any other source that provides THIS sort of data.
Second, you cant fix it. No one is even trying.
And they will. But they may do so too late to save it.
Our Founders warned us. We did not listen. We are reaping what we have sown.
But "screw us" works too.
"Two" un needed wars? I agree one was stupid but your fine with people attacking us, and then what would you do apologize to them for their attack on us?
