Please read this historical diagram then use your mathematical knowledge to understand in order to avoid hypocrisy; hypocrisy is the state of pretending to have beliefs, opinions, virtues, feelings, qualities, or standards that one does not actually have. Hypocrisy involves the deception of others and is thus a kind of lie.
Now I believe that friends will understand this statement :
" The Tea Party is the problem of our country."
Recall this historical fact about the Tea Party:
"I'm 'no' on raising the debt ceiling right now"
We voters are smart enough to distinguish between a political statement and a feasible solution for our country.

Historical Facts to educate ourselves:

The Democratic President Andrew Jackson [ March 4, 1829 - March 4, 1837
Public debt is a fact of life. The U.S. has had debt since its inception. Our records show that debts incurred during the American Revolutionary War amounted to $75,463,476.52 by January 1, 1791. Over the following 45 years, the debt grew.

Notably, the public debt actually shrank to zero by January 1835, under President Andrew Jackson. But soon after, it quickly grew into the millions again.

The American Civil War resulted in dramatic debt growth. The debt was just $65 million in 1860, but passed $1 billion in 1863 and had reached $2.7 billion following the war. The debt grew steadily into the Twentieth Century and was roughly $22 billion as the country paid for involvement in World War I.

The buildup to World War II brought the debt up another order of magnitude from $51 billion in 1940 to $260 billion following the war. After this period, the debt's growth closely matched the rate of inflation until the 1980s, when it again began to increase rapidly. Between 1980 and 1990, the debt more than tripled. The debt shrank briefly after the end of the Cold War, but by the end of FY 2008, the gross national debt had reached $10.3 trillion, about 10 times its 1980 level.

Love the Tea Party. They are the only ones with principles and not beholding to lobbyists...

The Tea Bag Party ARE the corporate lobbyists. This is a political front group for the billionaire corporate heads set up so they could actually take over the remainder of the government.

Man, what cave do these people crawl out of that they have the nerve to post such ridiculous libelous garbage? Did the mental institution empty out the right wing patient area?

They BOTH have spent like drunken sailors. One example of bad behavior should not be used to justify another. We need to STOP!!! Medicare will go bankrupt by 2016. I don't need it but some people do.

McCain is right and I believe his point is a valid one. The best analogy I can make is a medical one. The country has been on "life support" (deficit spending) for over 30 years. In a medical setting if a person has been on life support for an extended period, the medical staff doesn't just go in one day and say "no more life support" and pull off the equipment as that would kill the patient. They go through a process called "weaning" where they gradually take steps to reduce the dependance and eventually the patient no longer needs life support. I see the same process being needed with the country. We need to take steps to reduce spending and to increase taxes to cover the obligations of the country. Taxes are at too low a rate to sustain the necessary functions of government so there needs to be more income to cover these things. And now the attacks from anyone who doesn't see this as a realistic solution will begin........

The problem is the government never quits spending. They just use new revenues for new programs. They need to pay off debt and reduce expenditures. They will have to be forced to take the medicine. I would have no problem paying more if I thought they would actually pay off the debt...however, I judge them by past behavior and I do not trust them.

All the repubs want to do is make Obama look bad. But if the Democrats stand strong and support him, then the American public will benefit and win. We can't let the repubs make a mockery out of our Democracy by pushing their bills that would decimate the working class and those on fixed incomes.

I am seriously wondering what it will take to get people out on the streets to shut it down. Another Billionaire Corporation disaster? Another military invasion? Another assault on our rights by the Supreme Court.

Nothing seems to bother most of the people of America. I guess as long as they have shopping to do and bad fast food to eat. And the ultimate propaganda narcotic TV. We are in deep doo-doo. Can you say HEIL to Exxon, Walmart, GE, Halliburton, AT&T, etc.?

The debt ceiling needs to be raised to meet obligations incurred by previous administrations. Lets start with having all corporations on the Forbes list that did not pay any taxes last year pay their share this year. Let the millionaire tax benefit expire. Return all the trillions of dollars that were stolen from the Social Security Fund in order to balance previous budgets. Stop outsourcing jobs and you will achieve two things: corporations avoiding the SS tax and more jobs for Americans.
Baby Boomers, it is time to hit the streets and protest. WE need to do this one more time.

Wow, estyler5 where did you get your facts and how did you figure them. Let me guess, you pulled them out of your ass and you figured that was good enough. You claimed to have the facts, but instead of presenting facts, you made a ridiculous statement that provides no facts at all. Facts usually require evidence, like you have no idea what your talking about. That is a fact, my evidence of this fact is your statement. I have heard other people make the same statement and call it fact without any evidence also, your not alone in your ignorance, so that is something you can feel good about.

estyler5 is correct. Spending under Bush was $1.6 billion per day; under Obama it is $4.1 Billion per day. You all seem to forget the Healthcare bill that was supposed to cost $1 trillion and every time the CBO scores it the cost goes up or the failed stimulus. Then there is the continued unemployment exacerbated by this administration's policies of global wealth redistribution. Most recent..GE outsourcing their Xray technology to China..you know Jeff Imelt the Job czar..his "GE" that paid no taxes in 2010. We can't drill in the Gulf but Obama gives $2 billion to Brazil to drill at depths deeper than the Deepwater Horizon spill and $5B to Columbia to build oil refineries. Obama is President of what country? Give off the partisan crap and look at the facts.

to Angry_Dan: here is the link comparing spending for Bush vs Obama. Please note that it does NOT even include Obamacare. Please read the entire think and note the sources of the article. They are hardly Conservative.
