My God, is this what the U.S. has been reduced too? She even said John Quincy Adams was a founding father at the age of nine. And if that wasn't enough, she even managed to P-OFF Tom Petty, when she played "American Girl" yesterday when she walked onstage at a rally. Petty's management team immediately sent the Bachmann campaign a cease and desist. Boy Michele, you can't do anything right and you want to run the country? Now let me hear all of you Pubtarts defend her, I won't even put up an argument.

This is indeed what we have been reduced to. I hope Tom Petty suits her smarmy pants off. The republicans, being stupid, have an appetite for stupid. Birds of a feather, flock together. They simply cannot defend this airhead. Bachman is perhaps the most inflammatory, divisive, toxic politician ever.

When pandering, it is particularly important to get facts straight. The whole point of her comment was to get the people of that town on her side. She's done the exact opposite while simultaneously perpetuating her own reputation. Not a good way to start a presidential race, but of course, few people take this woman seriously anyway (because of that reputation). My question is, 'Where are her aides?' It seem their fact-checking is a little below par.

Republicans dwell in a delusional fantasy land of their own creation. There is no fact checking. There is no need to fact check when they are making up their own narcissistic reality as they go along. It is truly sickening to watch the idiots that the republicans try to pass off as candidates.

To bad the reporter failed to do her job. Gacy was born in Chicago. Next on the smear ride.

Making a mistake during a speech like Obama (and many, many others have done) is not the same thing as being a pathological liar and making up facts and history (like Bachmann, Palin, Ryan, Boner, McConnell, (fill in your favorite Republicon here).

The John Wayne thing isn't that big of a deal. CBS is just doing their part to destroy her. I mean come on the messiah Barak Obama claimed that he had been to all 57 states and the LIB media didn't seem to hold that against him.

You're right! CBS is trying to do the same thing to Bachmann that they've been doing to Palin for the last three years! They hate anyone that they think might be a serious threat to Obama's re-election!

Talk about gaffes, "John Wayne Gacy, Jr. -- the serial killer -- was born in Waterloo" is wrong! He was born in Chicago in 1942 and moved to Waterloo in 1967 at age 25. If you are going to point out that someone got something wrong, you better be equipped with the correct facts. That's the press in 2011.

Michele' OK. I'm happy to learn a little about a place called Waterloo, about Michele, about John Wayne. Gaffes happen. All cool. Michele has handled the gaffe honestly with humility. I'm aboard with that. Let's hear more.
