The great thing is that she is such a poster child for modern Republicans. And she is not the only example. Reagan was lucid only about half the time during his second term, Baby Bush hardly could open his mouth without putting his foot in it and lets not even get started on Christine Odonnell, who didnt know the First Amendment of the Constitution. I just dont get why anyone is paying attention to her. She was a laughing stock in 2008 and has done nothing to improve her image ever since. No party will back her, she has zero experience governing anything, especially since she quit the only political job she ever had two years in and one of those was spent on the campaign trail. Again, why is this none issue being given press space? She had her 15 mintues, we were all entertained, now trot out the dancing dogs.
She is bad for business. My business. It is nothing personal, I choose not to respect those that do not fulfill their sworn obligations.
People can make all the excuses they want to justify her actions but it doesn't change the simple fact that a person of integrity steps up to the plate, brings their best game and fights till their last breath when the going gets tough. That simple concept like a gentle breeze flies right over the heads of most people. That is a fact. It is not personal.
It is simply business and these values should apply to everyone. Those that feel the need to defend the people of that nature are in fact lacking in self esteem and just plain good common sense.
by san850 February 15, 2011 7:43 PM EST Now JV that's funny! And I didn't think you had a sense of humor. Please explain, though, why Katie Couric would need to "apologize" to Palin? You do realize that it was Sarah Palin who could not give sensible answers to Couric's questions, right? You know, the one about Supreme Court decisions for instance? Why should Couric apologize for Palin's incompetence?? Please explain.
========
I can see Couric now: "Gee, Mrs. Palin, I am SO sorry for asking you simple questions, like what you read, and what your favorite SCOTUS ruling is. We'll stick to asking you which brand of applesauce you like, if you can handle that...."
I'm pretty sure Obama could answer what he reads, or his fav SCOTUS case, Prosperity, don't you? I've never liked a politician, but rarely have I seen one as mind-numbingly stupid as Palin.
ProsperityBeginsIn2012 the woman was asked one time, while she was running for vp and she couldnt answer. Are you telling me she needs a teleprompter to know what her job duties are?
slappy You may not think she needs to apologize but the bottom line is SHE'LL PROBABLY HAVE TO if she ever wants to get another interview with Palin! She'll do whatever she needs to do, including apologize to Palin, if CBS orders her to get an interview and her job is on the line! Even though Couric is the head of the news department at CBS, she still has bosses that she has to take orders from!
JV, you are avoiding the issue as usual....you still haven't answered the question: What should Couric apologize to Palin for? Why should she apologize for Palin's incompetence??????? Palin is the one who couldn't answer simple pertinent questions, not Couric.
san For one thing she should apologize for the condescending way she conducted the interview. She let her dislike of Palin show throughout the whole interview. She should also apologize for the insult. She not only insulted Palin. She insulted every Alaskan citizen. Her question about what Palin reads implied that she either can't or doesn't read, neither of which is true. It also implied that the people of Alaska don't read. It implied that they are a bunch of uneducated country hicks who can't read and don't keep up with world events. Also she singled Palin out and didn't show her the same respect that she showed Obama, Biden, or McCain. She didn't ask any of them what they read because she respected their intelligence and assumed that they are well educated and well read. Palin should have been shown the same respect.
And as for Palin's lack of knowledge of foreign policy, I do admit that is something she needs to work on and improve if she intends to run for the presidency. It's Couric's condescending attitude toward Palin and the insult that she needs to apologize for though.
JV, the question I addressed in my post concerned Supreme Court decisions, not foreign policy....but, you are correct, she certainly does need to "work on" her knowledge of foreign policy, as well as all other areas of federal, national, and international issues. She has shown over and over again that she is much too incompetent to even think about running for President of the United States. Also, it's just a matter of perception and opinion whether you think Katie Couric was "condescending" or not...I personally think she was only doing her job.
That's just your opinion! You don't know that to be a fact! All you see is the polls. You won't know if it's a fact until the primaries are over if she decides to run!

Why does every single sentence have to end in an exclamation mark?!!!!!
For all you Palin defenders, would you give Obama the same pass if he made a similar mistake? I didn't think so. You would excoriate him and call him names.
He has made similar mistakes and, yes, you liberals and CBS gave him the same pass! In fact when Obama makes a mistake CBS says very little, if anything about it and "kills" the story and takes it off their website as soon as possible. They let stories about Palin's mistakes run for days and sometimes even weeks on their website.
JV my point is, would YOU give Obama a pass, like you give Palin? I'm not talking about CBS here, I'm talking about all the Palin apologists who post here.
larrryshrine Do YOU ever give Palin a pass even when she's just made a simple human mistake as she did this time? I doubt it! I might, maybe, IF I think he just made a simple mistake that won't do us any harm. However, HIS mistakes affect our daily lives and can even get our military men and women killed! HIS mistakes are much more serious and carry a lot more weight than Palin's mistakes do! Therefore, he shouldn't get "passes"!
You liberals can say what you will about Sarah but the only thing that she is wrong about was the amount of the budget cuts. She is right that they aren't drastic enough even the cuts that President Obama announced. The information that she was given is old and not accurate. That is the only thing she's wrong about.
Also I'm going to remind you people who continue to call her a quitter that she is still around and standing after over two years of the worst verbal assaults that I've ever seen anyone take in all of my 58 years of living! A little over a month ago she was being called a murderer in these comment boards. She also received death threats by the hundreds!
Her children have been verbally attacked and ridiculed both in these boards and on twitter and facebook and by every late night "comedian" in the country. Sarah, herself, has been sued, threatened, accused, and called stupid, and an idiot and called every filthy name there is in the dictionary and some new ones that aren't in the dictionary yet.
She has withstood all of that for the last two years and hasn't disappeared back to Alaska yet! She could have just gone back to Alaska after the 2008 election never to be heard from again but she hasn't! That doesn't seem like a "quitter" to me!
She is bad for business. My business. It is nothing personal, I choose not to respect those that do not fulfill their sworn obligations.

slappy_mcghee Yes, I'm aware of that but I'm also aware of many Republicans and conservatives who do!

It's a minority. Most Repubs and conservatives want nothing to do with her.

You have pretty low standards, then.
So go cry "unfair" somewhere else.
