Just think if we would have started drilling for oil during Bush's first term we would be looking at $1.00 gas again today, and President Obama could be patting himself on the back.

The Democrats keep saying "it will take 10 years to get that oil", well?? it been 10 years and what do we have for domestic energy production?

The republicans gave $300 MILLION in tax breaks to the big oil companies in 2002.

Why are gas prices so high with all of those subsidies that Uncle Sam is paying them?

Republicans want to reduce government spending and government control
Democrats want to increase government spending and increase government control.

As evidenced by the "Department of Homeland Security" - the biggest bureaucratic boondoggle EVER created, fabricated "wars for no reason", "bridges to nowhere", subsidies for big oil, pharmaceutical, and insurance companies......

Reducing government control is what led to this disaster we are in. Don't you remember what the Bushoccio Crime Family did? The private sector DID NOT CREATE ANY JOBS!!!!!!!!!!

Are you against the government providing for its citizens? Do you want them to continue to rob from the poor to give to the rich? What is wrong with you?

"so I jumped ship and went to the public sector."

So who do you think pays for your job? I am laughing out loud.....

starving is one of the public sector employee union type that is bankrupting states all over the country.

priceless..........

and he calls us naive, if it wasn't for government he would have nothing.

Of course you're naive.

You idiots think that big business and the very wealthy are the answer to ALL of our problems, while they take our tax money and flee overseas, laughing all the way to the bank.

And your answer to that?

"Well Glenn Beck and Hannity said that they need EVEN MORE tax money to 'create jobs', so I guess we'll have to give them EVEN MORE tax breaks."

Ten years later you're STILL supporting that failed formula, and STILL trying to justify it!

That's such a lie, corporations exist for the common good at our convenience. If they can't make it on mere billions, we will find someone who can.

Where else are we going to get the money to run government for the people? From trees?

I've finally concluded that you are a child or at best, a young adult.....yeah, from trees

You don't "find them".....that's laughable......corporations are created at the whim of an owner who wants to take a risk with their capital, you don't create them, you don't take what they earn, you do nothing to them or for them......they exist for the sole purpose of creating profit, that's it.....they aren't there to "serve the common good"....."pay for your social programs"....or any of the liberal concepts that you dreamed up.

Keep taxing corporations and watch everything dissapppear.....being a junior executive for a handful of years, is hardly what I call real experience.....how's it working at Wende/Buffalo now ?

And now you alone dictate who has "experience" and who doesn't, based on.....?

PS - I don't work at Wende.

That's right.....I know experience when I hear it, and you have none....you are clueless about how corporate America operates, and how business earns profit, just clueless....so yeah, you have none, according to my opinon, mine alone !! what a dik

I understood it perfectly, and agree with what chevyhotrod said, you were pretty clear about your desire to punish and dictate where a company operates....someone opens a factory overseas, you equate that with Republicans shipping jobs overseas....you wish to dictate what they earn, where they operate, who they hire, there is no end to your desire for government to intrude in the lives of private business.

Translation: "I have a job with benefits, so I don't give a sh-- if the unemployment rate EVER comes down, or if the national debt keeps skyrocketing due to income tax collections dropping like a rock."

That's very patriotic of you.

What language are you translating to ?

Keep taxing and spending, it's what you do best.....that's why we have 10% unemployment for the past 3 years.

Your tired, old talking points are frankly getting childish and show a real lack of understanding on your part.

Gas went down to $1.49 under Bush, so you are full of crap.

Yeah - 4 months into his first term!

And then Cheney held his "top secret" / "no records kept" meeting with the big oil execs, and by 2008 we had $4 per gallon.

We HAVE to regulate business. Otherwise we end up where we are today, 2010 America. An incipient fascist state, turning into a third world country due to outlandish spending by the Republicans.

But this is their plan. Bankrupt the country, give all the money to their rich donors and then say see: the government failed.

So when a company seeks to expand their markets to other countries, you feel like you own that company, tell them what to do, and think you can dictate where they can seek markets abroad, and punish them if they wish to actually make a profit ? not every company expanding overseas, is "taking our jobs" with it.....that's the problem of being a security guard your whole life, you have no real business experience whatsoever.

Junior, I was in the business world at the junior executive level for 8 of my last 15 years in the private sector.

The ONLY reason that I took this job is because the "war on the middle class" started affecting me.

First went the "no raise this year", then came the "no raise because health insurance premiums are too high". Then came the "elimination of dental and vision benefits". Then came the elimination of the companies 401k, (excluding the executive teams pensions of course". And then came the layoffs, with the jobs being shipped overseas.

It was only a matter of time before my job was eliminated, (like all my benefits already were), so I jumped ship and went to the public sector.

So you can take that "no real business experience" back to your job at Walmart assembling bikes, and shove it!
