The fallen soldiers these self professed Christians condemn are the same people that give these people the freedom to speak the idiotic things they say. Mathew 7:2-5... 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3 "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Just another Cult professing to be Christ like but they remind me of Mathew 15:8... "'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

I think the IRS needs to investigate this church and take away their non-tax status.

A funeral is a time for family and friends to come together to celebrate the life of the loved one who has passed away. For friends and family to support one another in their loss, offer condolences, shoulders to cry on, kindness to help those closest to the deceased cope with their loss. Unless you have lost a parent, a spouse, a dear friend, you cannot possibly know the pain, the heartache of that loss or how long it takes to overcome it.

I lost my father 4 years ago and my mother 15 months later and I still ache everyday. The holidays are especially difficult because they loved them so, they loved us so much. The things shared by friends and family at their funerals made the final day of their lives here on earth easier to cope with and offered at least some time to remember the good things we shared, their "specialness" as people and ease the pain and loss albeit temporary.

Shame on those members of Westboro Baptist Church who would even consider let alone actually picket Elizabeth Edwards funeral. Did you know her? Do you know her family members and friends? What do your "political views" you try to pass as "Christian beliefs" have to do with this or any other family who has suffered a loss?

This is a "private time" for this and other families to grieve and find comfort in their loss. I pray God is watching over all of them, especially the two young children she leaves behind, and is able to help them through their loss and the days ahead that will be equally as difficult for them.

Jesus said, "do unto to others as you would have them do unto you." Would you want someone to add to your pain and loss as you plan on adding to this family and their friends and others you have chosen to judge?

The Lord God I believe in and worship would not condone your belief system nor your behavior. If you are truly "Christians" you will re-think your actions and realize how they hurt others, especially Christians.
Christ would never have behaved like you .........He would not consider you followers of His word or that of the Father for they preached love, understanding and tolerance.......certainly not hatred.

This is a private time, not just for this family but all families who daily deal with a loss...........and you are not invited.

These Westboro Baptist Church people are nothing but a bunch of trashy idiots. They should not be allowed to desecrate the funeral of Elizabeth Edwards. If you live anywhere near Raleigh, North Carolina, go to the church where Elizabeth Edwards' funeral is going to be held and form a huge human circle around the area of the church so that none of the Westboro Baptist Church protestors can get anywhere near the church.

The colleges of NC State, Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, St Augustine's, Shaw University, North Carolina Central, and Meredith College are in this area. Send your students out there to form a huge human circle around the neighborhood of the church where the Edwards funeral is going to be help.

Elizabeth Edwards did a lot to help other people. Let's make sure that no idiots like those of the Westboro Baptist Church are allowed to get near the church where the funeral is bing held. Help us form a huge human circle around the neighborhood of the funeral to prevent the hateful protestors from disrupting Elizabeth Edwards funeral.

The bible is a book of love and not hate, I am sorry for those who are turned off by these people who call themselves Christians...we are here for those who have turned to "sinful" ways and decide for themselves that they want to change, by breeding hate they are only pushing away people from the faith...very sad. I promise you God is loving and loves all people and it only makes him sad when we stray...

Obviously these people stand by, waiting for a high-profile funeral, like vultures, and then make up some convoluted sins and transgressions of the dead person so they have an excuse to crawl out of the woodwork and 'protest' that person's life. I called them 'flies' in an earlier post; that was an error on my part. They are cockroaches, the very lowest form of life, but they've been around since the beginning of organized religion. Their only cause is to spread hatred and ugliness, and they inspire utter disgust.

CORRECTION: This also illustrates why we have political deadlock - so many consider that their idealology is sacred/correct and won't listen to anything to the contrary.

This whole thing is completely ridiculous. It is only one more in the saga of religions and their refusal to consider that others BELIEFs are just as valid as their own which leads to the fact that religions are the worst thing that has ever happened to people on earth.

This also leads to the paradox that only ONE of the thousands (millions?) of religious beliefs CAN BE RIGHT - and that is highly questionable. Basically, religions are a way for leaders(?) can control the behavior of their followers in the guise of a deity.

This also illustrates why we have political deadlock - so many won't consider that their idealology is sacred/correct and won't listen to anything to the contrary.

Just another example of how not all Christians, like myself, share the beliefs of RADICAL religious organizations like this one. Kinda like how not all Muslims share the radical beliefs of Muslim terrorists. There is a lesson to be learned here people!
