I am glad John Boehner will be House Chair. This morning "Boehner stopped short of agreeing everything President Obama had suggested. Boehner does not have guts to disagree with President Obama. Boehner is a Big Cry Baby. Per Nancy Pelosi "Boehner cries all the time when confronted with tough discussions." By other way Boehner and McConnell now agree with President Obama. These two would not dare disagree with President Obama on the following: Continue tax cuts for us making less than $250,000. These cuts will enable American people to clean inventories and buy more services. This will create more jobs. There is no reason to repeal Health Care law. We cannot allow insurance companies deny coverage on pre-existing conditions. Sarah Palin daughter will be mad with Boehner and McConnell. Sarah baby has pre-existing condition-down syndrome. Such babies have frequent visits to clinics and hospitals. Boehner and McConnell would not dare repeal insurance to cover for prolonged stay in hospital, if you lose your job and keeping your doctor. There is no reason for Republicans to rescind law allowing small business to easily borrow to retool their businesses to create more jobs. As a whole President Obama initiatives should stay as they are now. Of course Boehner and McConnell can add their own. But they do not have any suggestions how to create jobs other saying "American people want jobs". To create jobs you have to spend money. That's what President Obama wants to do. Let us get this country moving forward again and re-elect Obama in 2012.

All the midterms did, was put a stop to the "de facto" dictatorship, of the Democratic party, and restore some balance to government, making it impossible to pass any more really bad bills.

Three things, First, polls are unreliable. Second, California the most populous state, voted to retain Democratic control of the state and its Congressional delegation. Several other populous states did the same. The Republicans won states that have been traditionally Republican. Less than 10% of the Congressnal seats, both the House of Representatives and the Senate changed hands. The poll neither supports Republicans or Democrats.

Lastly, the question is skewed. There is room for negotiation on the tax cuts, numerous Democrats such as myself believe that the ceiling on tax cuts should be raised to about $300,000.00 a year for couples, married or otherwise, and about $350,000.00 to $400,000.00 for businesses to stimulate the job market. We don't understand why the Democratic leadership is hung up on artificial ceilings set by the Republicans 10 years ago. All tax cuts should be for no more than 5 years, at which time the legislature can re-evaluate the revenue situation and amend the law to accommodate the raise in the cost of living. When you put the question in the form of antiquated and artificial ceilings, you skewer the results. Each and every poll I have read has stated the question using the same artificial ceiling on who should get the tax cuts. That's why polls are unreliable.

Of course! We still have 9.5% unemployment, a record breaking $1.3 trillion deficit for the year - giving us a staggering $13.3 trillion national debt that is scheduled to hit the $14.2 trillion debt ceiling in May of 2011 - we still have a group of progressives in the Senate and the Presidency who are bent on growing the federal government at the expense of businesses and taxpayers. We aren't out of the woods by a long shot.

It FoxNews that is lying to people about the economy. FoxNews thinks the deficit is to blame for economic woes. I do not think so. You have to spend to make money and thus create employment and stability in a country. As I told everybody the national debt does not affect you personally unless there are no potential goods and services to be purchased. Tell me, the writer of this memo, if you have been affected by the national debt so far. No. In fact if we restrict the federal government from spending, more people will be hurt. Those enjoying are the wealthy who are investing outside the country like Mexico, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea etc where they get cheap women. Please do not lie to the public.

The deficit has to do with devaluing the US dollar, and it becomes a burden for the entire nation to pay the money back. Today, about 20% of our national budget goes to pay for only the interest on the national debt. Think of this negative impact, it is staggering.

The economy began to become a big mess when Washington (both Republican President Bush and a Democrat Congress) pushed banks and mortgage companies to give loans to people who could not pay them back.

We have to reduce the federal government to a manageable size, and spending money that we do not have. We must reduce taxes and regulations on businesses and individuals in order to jump start the economy again.

This poll is the least shocking I've seen. Of course people are still upset. This election wasn't some hopeful surge bringing in change -- it was a recognition that neither party is fixing our problems fast enough. Want to know why? Because both parties are in the banks' pocket. It's going to lead to the downfall of our whole system. There's a must-read interview up with money and politics expert Tom Ferguson, check it out: http://www.newdeal20.org/2010/11/12/money-and-the-midterms-are-the-parties-over-interview-with-thomas-ferguson-26869/

Ummm...hate to remind you of this "newsbarn," but if tax cuts for the rich "create jobs," why are they're "creating jobs" right now??

Here's what I think is more accurate: The rich DON'T actually use their money to create jobs. They spend their money ON THEMSELVES...

If the U S keeps fighting in foreign countries, we have to pay the tab.
It isn't pretty. It isn't cheap. And we have to cut domestic programs and pay higher taxes to fund the military.
We spend a fortune every day keeping our military in combat.
