It was very telling when candidate Whitman fired her housekeeper last year with the sentence, "you don't know me, and I don't know you". She was trying to clear out what skeletons that she could clear while she is attempting to buy the office of governor of the state of California. We have a current governor in the state of California who was an "outsider" and a "successful businessman" with no political experience. That has not worked. An "outsider" does not know the political machinations that operate government which, as we all know, is very important to understand in order to make change. Not only does candidate Whitman not know the machinations, she willingly voices that she has not voted. Whereas she could not have given a "whit" about politics in the past, now she believe she can be governor of anything?
As things begin to finally look up with our economic climate we need someone with experience to lead us out of the California desert of this "great recession" that the republican's and Mr. George Bush so willingly lead us into. The ones who drove us into the ditch should not be clamoring to say that they are the ones that are best equipped to lead us out.

Whitman;s her housekeeper was in charge of sorting her mail and for that reason Whitman never saw the letter for SS is a convenient/quick explanation. Why would you put your housekeeper in charge of your mail - and given the fact she get mailings from SS on a number of issues how would the housekeeper know the exact letter to usurp? I don't know it appears Whitman has a quick explanation for everything - and she always comes up smelling like a rose.
