Ethic violations should be cause for termination without benefits. Anyone who has been there for 40 years should be very aware of the ethic policies and has no excuse for any violations. Shame on Mr. Rangel and us if we continue to allow this type of behavior in our elected officials. Aren't we tired enough to demand better behavior from our politians. He shouldn't resign he should be "dishonorably discharged" from duty.

Charlie Rangel should be treated as a criminal. He took an oath to take care of the people's business, not his! Why do we keep complicating these things? It is quite simple.

For all you conservatards who think this will be a midterm problem for dems, don't get your hopes up. I think you've forgotten about Vitter and Ensign. What Ensign is accused of makes Rangels problems look mild. I can't wait to see the repugnants faces the day after the election. You're gonna be a bit POed. I can't wait!!!!!!!!

Another article about Rep Rangel's Congressional ethics charges. He does need to answer for his actions.

But, I wonder where the stories about Senaort Ensign and the CRIMINAL charges (growing out of the Congressional ethics charges against him) that are currently before a federal Grand Jury?

Hmmmmm.... you'd think only Democrats have problems with integrity and we all know that isn't true. Corruption is bi-partisan.

I'm a loyal Democrat, who see's our country stablizing from Bush and Corporate America's mini 2008 mini depression. I see the Democratic Majority Party leading our country out of two unneccessary Vietnams, that Bush and his party created on false premise's that Iraq had nukes. Afghanastan was bungled right from the beginning. Bush and hs boys shock and awing and ransacking a whole country when the dogs that bit us we're no more than a few hundred encamped in the middle of one nowhere province of Afghanastan. I support our President and majority party, but I cannot support this Representative Rangals' dishonorable and disgracefull acts of graft and extortion. I feel for his 80 year age, but it doesn't excuse his crimes. These are serious charges, that require justice. Congress is talking of a minor Reprimand as his punishment. This is not justice. Just as I called for the arrest of President Bush and Dick Cheney for war crimes, torture, (enhanced interrogation, right Cheney?), I call upon our Federal Prosecutors to charge Rangel for his high crimes. How can we imprison millions of American's for lessor crimes, as the men of power walk free, smiling in their in their state of immunity. My Democratic Party represents the common man like your and I. It must condemn one of it's own severly when graft and extortion take place. Rangal isn't above the law. If he is held above the law, then our law is a lie, created for the powerful by the sacrifice of the small. Congress can't be allowed to sweep this under the rug the old boy way. We're in the beginning of the diginet age, that must be based upon justice for all, with no man above the law. If Reresentative Rangal is allowed to pocket grafted millions for the return of his vote, then then whole Democratic party, is part of his crime. See justice, Obama, not the color of Rangals skin. Represent all of us, show the world no man is above the law in America.

He's either incredibly dumb, or just greedy and power hungry...I choose to believe the latter. Our government is full of people like that from the President down. It's a game they are playing where there are only consequences for the people they are pretending to serve. It's all about the perks, as evidenced by the charges brought against Rangel. And, no, he's not the only one, and yes, it's been going on for a long time, but we have to ask ourselves if that makes it right. NO, NEVER!! We all need to begin holding ALL OF CONGRESS to a higher standard and vote out the weasels!!

The one and only problem with this is EVERY MEMBER OF CONGRESS is in violation, has violated or knowingly condones the violation of rules and ethical behavior of his fellow members WITH THE EXCEPTION of BERNIE SANDERS. However, a congress of one is not a workable solution. A new constitutional congress needs to be voted on BY THE PEOPLE and a new era of governance ushered in which serves the people and not the privileged few. By these actions and intentions shall the government prevail and democracy be preserved.
