There is no doubt that many people posting here don't really know and understand the ramifications of the Arizona State Law with respect to Federal Laws and some critical international treaties and compacts that also protect Americans who travel overseas.
The first question that comes to my mind is "What kind of a country do you want this one to become in 20 years?"
Can you really envision an identification system that can become a tool of segregation? We don't need a solid state or radio chip to do that. Not too long ago, there was a country who simply made certain citizens wear arm bands around their sleeves to identify their selves.
Can you really envision a wall that stops unauthorized crossings? Not too long ago, there was a country who created such a wall. Some of our greatest presidents made political speeches in the presence of that wall and asked the creator of the wall to tear it down.
Can you really envision a system that tortures the poor and deprives the un-employed? An economic depression does just that exact type of thing. Watch the feature film "The Grapes of Wrath" with Henry Fonda and see the drama that follows a homeless American family.
I honestly respect and admire both President Obama and President Calderon of Mexico, because I am convinced that they don't envision two neighboring nations becoming a place of wall-building, segregation, or persecution of unemployed or homeless citizens.
The USA and Mexico need each other, and both must discover the ways to give each other their best during the good and bad times...just like friends always do.
The throw away society of discrimination, segregation, and persecution signifies a sick heart and a most immoral mind. Wake up...it's a bad dream that will pass and there is no boogieman that is going to get you. Fear nothing! Hate nothing! Rise and respect what civilization stands for!
sorry, but I want my tax dollars spent here at home. We have far too much on our plates to be spending it on the incarceration of criminals who are in this country illegally, forei gnstudents who we are educating for free, and healthcare expenses. Furthermore I am outraged at obama's aunt zeituni who lived here rent free at the taxpayers expense for 6 years and then had hip replacement surgery on the taxpayer's dime. I don't pay my taxes for that. If obama wants to pay for her, fine. But I find it unconscionable that with all his money he saddles taxpayers with having to pay for her expenses. Anyone getting over that wall to the west was turned over to the west German authorities or they turned themselves in and asked for political asylum. Our standing orders were to apprehend anyone coming over the Wall and turned over to the West German Authorities.

There is not one thing in the Arizona law that is not required of any citizen in the investigation of a crime. Probable cause would prevent random pull overs based on race. If me or mine were in a traffic stop, accident or involved in a crime, we would be REQUIRED to give identification. And that is true all over the world. The difference here is that you don't automatically go to jail as you would in Mexico.

Obama always speaks to each thought to get a majority approval. When he acts upon what he says, he only goes in the direction of his agenda and tells the other 90% what they need to think and do. The thing is that he has gotten away with it so far. Of course, he is Mr. President.

We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements.
We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws.
I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way over?
Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. Please print all Mexican government forms in English.
4. I want my grandkids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.
5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my grandkids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.
7. Please plan to feed my grandkids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico but I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.

I too would like to join the caravan to Mexico. I like the idea of not having to go through any of the legal stuff. And we all know Mexico's illegal immigration laws are much tougher. Let's just call it even then. You skip our paperwork and we'll skip yours.

I don't suppose if anybody asked him if he or anybody in his administration had even read the law yet. The law specfically forbids racial profiling and discrimination, but that doesn't make any difference to Obama. However, you'd think he defend his nation and the good people of Arizona against attacks from foreign leaders, but not Obama!!! He's got to apologize and blame his own nation. As for Calderon, although I admire a lot of what he's doing for Mexico especially against the drug cartels, if he doesn't like the Arizona law maybe he should tell his citizens not to cross into the U.S. illegally. Mexico certainly wouldn't tolerate 12-15 million illegals pouring into Mexico from its Southern Border!!!!
