Rob, get real - repubs do the same thing, it's called politics, you blame one side, don't forget the other side........ you act like shouting "you lie" and "baby killer" are ethical, correct and moral. The repubs have never used recouncilation to jam political, non-partisan legislation thru Congress and the American public??? - BOTH sides of the aisle do it, and I'm not saying it's ethical or that I agree with it, just a fact of life in Washington, D.C. and in a lot of state governments. What you're really ranting about here is partisan politics in the absense of bipartisan support, problem is you political history is shortlived, nearsighted and not too far away from sour grapes........

Therefore Obama should dole out at least 10 times that amount.... hopefully the full 40 times it. Bush was a lightweight in terms of expanding the US government. We Dems will take over the entire country. And you'll thank us for it. Wait and see.

So I never said it was "O.K." simply a political reality and pointing out that Dems "do it" is one half of the story. It's just that simple, if you can't grasp that thought there's really nothing more that can be said.

I am a male survivor of horrific child abuse, sexual, physical, emotional...I will not go into details, but I will tell you this. Not giving a pedophile viagra or another ED drug isn't going to stop a child from "being bait".
It's been proven time and again that pedophiles cannot be rehabilitated. Even castration will not stop some pedophiles from hurting a child.
They don't have to use the male appendage to hurt a child. They can use hands, mouths, OBJECTS to hurt them. Trust me I know this.
I really doubt anyone is laughing, except perhaps the pedophile that reads he might not get his viagra script refilled.
I am not saying this to you to cause a war, I simply TRY to educate people. My hope is that one day there will never be another child harmed, EVER again.

Most of them really do not care what is actually in the bill/law. All they are concerned abpout is growing government and giving government more control over your life.
Because the real issue here is NOT about sexual offenders and Viagra, it's about healthcare and Coburn's attempt to stall. Obama has children as do many Democrats and you can be relatively sure they are concerned about "americas children". It is simply the Repub's political attempt to prevent/stall the House healthcare recouncilation measures from passing through the Senate, which by the way is their right and more power to them. But to assume that Coburn feels that this measure should be included in healthcare reform SOLELY out of concern about keeping our children save from sex offenders is a myth he hopes stupid people will swallow. Read all of Coburn's amendments and his real agenda becomes clearer...........
Think about what it would take to get insurance companies and doctors to be able to "know" who was a sex offender. You talking about adding a level of red tape to an already complicated process. It is not even enforcible right now and would probably cost a a butt load to even get set up. Not to mention just plain stupid.
As a Democrat, I know what the Republicans are going to do...anything to change the language of the House approved bill so that it has to go back to the House for yet another vote...anything to delay and obstruct...hence this no viagra for sex offenders amendment.
Harry Reid says that he has at least 51 votes for the House bill. I hope so and that the Senate simply votes down all amendments, whether they would benefit a Democratic senator's home state or not.
The bottom line is that this Democrat just plain doesn't trust the Senate Democrats to do the right thing and finally get the job done. If the Senate takes the GOP's bait and changes the House bill by a single word, I predict that Democrats like me all across the country will run Democratic senators all out of town on a rail come November.
I'll believe that the Senate is going to do the right thing when I see it...and not one moment sooner...
...but I'll be watching...and so will a lot of other Democrats.
