Okay, so "The Bill" is a shoe-in. But what comes next?
So, we have gone from covering 83% of the population to 95% of the population. Where are the doctors going to come from? What will happen with malpractice claims, will the government subsidize those, also? Or will they also subsidize the future doctors education? Or fast-track that education to 'get them in the field?'
Hospitals. Many doctors cannot take in new patients, so what are the hospitals to do? The people will go to the hospital then, as they do now, for everything from paper cuts to jammed fingers - let alone those that REALLY need to be there!
The list can go on and on. But 'WE' now have health care!
I wouldn't go jumping out and down just yet or counting your chickens before they hatch.
What exactly was the benefit of this bill? If I go tomorrow to buy health insurance, what will be the COST?
WIll it be any different (in price) tomorrow or next year? Not sure what the exact (1040 or schedule A write off) that will 'make" companies health insurance PREMIUMS ...affordable?
Exactly. There isn't a word in this bill that addresses the actual cost of health care. All it does is shift the burden of payment from one party to another.
this is just a 'health care' reform in TITLE only.
Tell me the uninsured (poverty level, unemployed, self employed with reduced work hours etc) will be able to AFFORD the PREMIUMS" just because this is a LAW (or some 1040 or schedule A write off) will help.
What exactly in the law will make (Corporations) health insurance premiums AFFORDABLE? lol... more Kool AID please.
The provisions of the bill don't take effect until 2014, at the earliest.
Of course, by then, every Representative and two-thirds of Senators will have had a chance to leave public "service" and retire or, better yet, enter a cushy job in the private sector so they can reap the financial rewards of legislation they have passed.
When this bill takes effect, they'll have ample opportunity to either distance themselves from its failures or pat themselves on the back in front of the cameras for its successes.
And, given the ignorance of your partisan comment, quaso, I'm sure you'll be the first in line to re-elect them, regardless of how well they serve you.
Did any of these passed without opposition? - Emancipation Proclamation by Lincoln - Women's suffrage by Wilson - Lend/Lease by FDR - Desegregation of the military by Truman - Civil Rights Act by Johnson
Socialism apparently is when the Congress votes for PEOPLE, not corporations.
And what would you call the alternative? Surely not DEMOCRACY.
Barack rocks; Boehner & his ilk look and sound DANGEROUS. How long will it take America to outgrow these dinosaurs? At least, with this historic initiative, we seem on the road to something resembling civilization.

Dear President Obama,
Congratulations on your HISTORIC achievement of passing a Health care Bill for us all in America, the last developed nation to come aboard. Thanks to your dogged leadership and cool headed approach.
I am so happy that I am represented in the White house by an able and young and energetic person like yourself. I have campaigned and supported you since 2007.
I am today a 55 year old person unemployed since November 13th 2009. I have continuing health coverage through COBRA for just 15 months i.e. till February 13, 2011.
I am applying for 50-75 jobs a day everyday with little luck even though I have 22 years of Technical Consulting experience with two degrees: a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with Honors and a Masters in Information Systems with Honors and also 5 years of Administrative experience.
If I am still unemployed on February 13, 2011 what are my Health care coverage options under this new Health care Bill that has just passed the House of Representatives in Congress?
My wife is a self employed Physician providing employment to 6 people and another doctor.
Just last month Aetna PPO raised her rate by $100.00 per month raising our medical premium by $1200.00 with no justifiable reason given at all.
President Obama I am 55 and unemployed with little chance of finding employment again soon in this kind of economy. How can I cover my Health care coverage after this Bill becomes law after Senate Reconciliation?

Has Rush Limp-paw left the country yet? He was threatening to move to Honduras (?) if it passed. Come on Rush or is this just another broken promise to the American People???

Just a few, of many questions to be asked....

Well it did and the sky is still up, so take that, Chicken Little.
