President Obama is finally waking up to the fact that the right will never accept him, no matter how far he leans towards them in his effort to appease them.
The problem, I fear, is that it is too late, the ASPD-afflicted crowd has been allowed far too much voice in the matter, disproportionate by far to their numbers.
I warned about this early on, on the day he announced that he would not seek to bring the Bush klan to justice for their crimes, and again when he didn't immediately close down Guantanamo.
Now he has sacrificed the momentum for change that he spent so much time and money galvanizing, and the only way to get it back is an aggressive assault, more forceful than he has ever been to date, on those who advocate continuance of the right-wing agenda of economic fascism, and their attempts to return to the days of Jim Crow.
The question now is will he do what is needed to regain the hope of the entire world, for change from America's last 60+ years of hegemony, genocide, racism, religious intolerance, and "trickle down" failed economic corruption?
I am not yet convinced that he possesses the necessary temperament, and am not convinced he feels safe enough physically to do what needs to be done.
