Somebody needs to do a news story on the number of people sent from these countries into the US on student visas to study NUCLEAR ENGINEERING especially during the 1990s before 9/11 happened and before Pakistan was such a strong nuclear power. You can start with some of the biggest universities in Florida using very simple Freedom of Information requests. This shouldn't take much more then an hour to do. I won't name the specific school but school I studied engineering at. ( You'll have to do a little homework here - trust me just say its in the top 5 in size.) But from what I saw at the time it appeared that 80%-90% of the student's studying the nuclear sciences were either from Pakistan and/or India.
I question, whether or not any foreign nationals should be allowed to study NUCLEAR ENGINEERING in US schools especially those schools subsidized with US taxpayer money?
I graduated before 9/11 occurred. From what I've heard from others still going to this school they cleaned up their act after 9/11 but that does not undo all the damage that has likely already been done and should have never happened in the first place.
If we accept illegal & immoral wars, -turning our soldiers from defensive heroes into criminal aggressors. Mass arrests,, torture// Bombs from the sky in cities..(all for the value of the cost of producing another one and further perpetuating the war itself.) We're at the point where over 50% of all discretionary spending goes to the military and it is literally hollowing the country out from the inside. Eisenhower warned us in his farewell speech and today we live with secret prisons, lack of guaranteed due process and Habbeus Corpus..warrantless wiretaps -not just on our so-called enemies but to be used against any American so deemed but the executive branch. All of these are the hallmarks of a dictatorship.
Siding with George on this, and I tend to be Liberal - or, rather, each side agrees with me the moment I don't toe their precious line. I think for myself. Most on news/political forums can't be bothered to, but before I digress...
SOME security is just, and Eisenhower was probably the last of America's great leader figures. Maybe Kennedy, but I have my doubts on the mythology raised behind him as well.
If Eisenhower were alive today, he could not be elected to any office excpet Mayor of Berkeley, because his political beliefs made Ted Kennedy look like a rightwing conservative. Eisenhower was a great man, but America has shifted so far to the right in the last 30 years that even Reagan would be considered a liberal today. Reagan was certainly more liberal in his policies than Obama, for example, but what was conservative 30 years ago is considered liberal today (like Obamacare, which is the exact healthcare program written by rightwinger Bob Dole in 1978).
It's clear the world recognizes Pakistan's present leadership as one cut from the same cloth as those hell bent on terrorizing a peaceful world. Pakistan was once seen and recognized as a respectable nation, but has changed its allegiance by harboring the modern outlaws of the world; a group of people hell bent on murdering anyone who doesn't agree with their evil ideologies of insanity. Nevertheless, the world cannot side with the temporary Pakistani government that allows such wickedness to flourish, that's the way of the coward. But to believe America stands alone on eradicating the wickedness of terrorism is to misjudge the world and its ability to resolve this issue, wherever this wickedness hides!
We need more wars. We did a great job in Korea, kicked butt in Viet Nam, gave 'em hell in Iraq, showed them who was boss in Afghanistan,
and now all we have to do is .............
.......Start a new war with Iran, a full fledged war with with Pakistan and you know as well as I we are going to have to save Syria and the only way we can do that is with war. America the warmonger. Here's a thought for your grandchildren...
PAYBACKS ARE HELL.
Yeah. Now we offshore jobs to Korea, Vietnam, with more going to Iraq and Afghanistan (Microsoft just opened up shop in Iraq, and probably given taxpayer money to do it, since in a free market it is up to government to help the largest and most profitable companies with money it clearly needs because it can't do things on its own... and, yes, there is sarcasm somewhere in this response... hint: it's about free market philosophies and how bogus they actually are out here in real life as compared to the pundits blindly bending over to it on their radio shows... a field day is one I could have in pointing out the utter hypocrisy, but that's for another day...)
Money (ours via taxes) poured into Pakistan and Afghanistan is a total waste. Troops (ours) are being killed by one-sees and two-sees and NOTHING is being done about it in DC. While we "talk" rather than "act" ALL coalition troops pay the price. The logic is simple, treat me bad and I'll talk about it. The Taliban may be stupid in many ways but it's not stupid in that way. It knows us!
I can't help but wonder are we (We The People) being distracted by this "war on terror" as our allies research missiles that can reach out and touch us? Just sayin'
I agree completely. The next time these terrorist groups harbored and trained inside their borders commit another terrorist act I don't think having them see an American sunrise is out of the question either. Remember who was behind the big terrorist attack in Mumbai? Pakistan. Pakistan's ISI was all into that - even providing arms and training.. Check it out... I'm not making this up.
Can we do this? Absolutely.. No question about it - but I'm talking hypothetically now about an all-out conflict. People seem to think we should be intimidated by a few nuclear weapons in Pakistan. BS. Boomer subs on the south side tomahawk launchers on the north side. Tomahawks coming in under the radar from both sides north and south all timed to hit at the same time... They'd have at most 3-4 minutes to react (with missiles that can't reach us) after they knew what was happening. Then they'd see nothing but the bright flash of light that would "change" their terrorist supporting hearts and minds - forever.
Pakistan what will your legacy be? Are you going to come into the modern world or will you forever be known for your terrorist supporting ways and national treasures: ABDUL QADEER KHAN, Osama Bin Laden, Abu Hafs al-Shahri, Abu Yahya al-Libi, Mohammed Qari Zafar, & Janbaz Zadran. I could go and on and on with all the terrorist they've harbored but I've got work to do.
I wish honorable Leon Panetta and his military ilk, use less words.
I do.
Oops, plum forgot.

Other bilateral matters and regional situation also came under discussion during the meeting. Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the two leaders also agreed to resolve urgently the issue of credit for the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline so as to complete it expeditiously. Relevant minister and officials from both sides will now meet to further take forward the decisions taken in principle. While giving details of the meeting, Senator Babar said that host of issues ranging from bilateral relations to the regional security situation and various ways and means to further promote socioeconomic development of the region with special reference to enhancing regional connectivity were discussed during the meeting. He said that the meeting attended by relevant ministers and high officials from both sides. Other bilateral matters and regional situation also came under discussion during the meeting. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment for early completion of the mega projects between the two countries and to expedite progress on inter and intra regional connectivity. President Zardari thanked his Iranian counterpart for extending to him invitation to attend the NAM Summit. He also felicitated Iranian leadership for taking over the leadership of NAM. President Ahmdinejad thanked the President saying that Iran looks forward to his participation in the Summit being one of the important regional player and stakeholder of regional peace and stability. President Zardari on his part reiterated Pakistan's keen desire and commitment of giving a new impetus to Pak-Iran bilateral cooperation in diverse fields. He said that Pakistan was keen to work hand in hand with Iran for promoting the goals of stability, peace and development of the region. The President said that in lieu of the energy crisis in the country, Pakistan looks forward to early completion of gas pipeline project with Iran which would help in meeting its energy requirements. The meeting also reiterated that the issue of drug-trafficking-- being the major sources of funding for the militants—needed be addressed by the international community on priority basis. On Afghanistan, President Zardari and President Ahmadinejad reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting peace efforts in the neighboring country.
Do you really want know what makes these two countries so friendly? Pakistan is helping Iran with its nuclear weapons program and also training them in tactics for how best to use their secret terrorist brigades in the future... FACT. What you see here is just the talk they give out to the world media and all the cameras to throw people off and to get more foreign aid money. It's all part of their deception plan..
I've been a South Asia analyst for more than a decade, and it was clear to me ten years ago that Pakistan is a terrorist state and the number one state supporter and exporter of terrorism on earth. Virtually every terrorist attack on the west in the last 20 years has originated in Pakistan, including 9/11. No one would listen -- we had to say "Pakistan is our ally."
Every time I heard the Paks playing their beloved double game of saying one thing and doing the opposite I got angrier than I was before. As the "Dean" of Pakistan analysts in Washington said, "Lying is the national sport of Pakistan." They lie about everything, even when they don't have to, it's their hobby.
The Taliban is a division of the Pakistani Army, sent by Pakistan to kill American soldiers. It is long past time to obliterate Pakistan from the face of the earth, and I'm glad this administration is finally beginning to realize the Pakistani emperor has no clothes.
