Business news says Hollande is all talk, no substance. His election does not change the fact the French gov has no money and like Greece, Ireland Portugal and Spain can no longer afford their socialistic society. No real surprise here, just look at the Soviet Union and now the Chinese who have begun building capitalistic societies where business competes for the customer with price and convenience.

Actually, American feminists don't approve if the woman is noticeably younger either.

American feminist women want men on their knees for one woman only and contract bound. THAT'S American-style liberalism. Not France's.

You seem to assume monogamy is a "feminist" idea.

I believe there are many non-feminist conservative groups who ALSO favor that arrangement, although the preferred subservient partner in some of THOSE groups tends to be the female.

What's this thing you have about kneeling anyway? Actually, NOBODY should be kneeling.

You people are funny to think this shows how liberal France is. Actually, it shows how feminist it isn't. Remember Mitterrand's case with his wife and mistress both mourning him at his funeral?
America's kind of liberalism is feminist based - which is why so many careers have ended over sex scandals.
True, it's ironic that sex is all over the media in the US. But you're expected to kneel down for one woman only.

The attitude is very much that what happens between consenting adults is their own business.

We in America, on the other hand, have a ton of people who think what others do is somehow their business.....

Low rate of marriage and low rate of re-production, aging of population, reliance on immigrants in unskilled labor force, Islamification (stronger families and better mores), and self-indulgent elites (trash with cash such as Strauss-Kahn) -- all leading to disappearance of distinct cultures and, in fifty years, national languages throughout Europe.

So many unfounded assumptions!
"With a total fertility rate of 2.01 (in 2010), France is the most fertile country in the European Union after Republic of Ireland."

What does having a partner really have to do with running a government. We have had presidents in the past that had no wives and the country didn't fall to peices. What a bunch of nonsense.
