Carter knew nothing about world politics he was to busy pushing his brother Billy's Beer. Iran knew he was ineffectual thats why they dragged it out. But when Reagan got in they saw the writing on the wall.

Redfeather, please explain. I cannot find any reports of US troops being dispatched to Egypt. Can you give a link or website address? And, what is the troops mission after they arrive?

Did anyone truthfully think the entire Arab nations held nothing but cowards and morones who would kill their brothers for a US dollar? Okay maybe their organizing and strategies are weak and they don't appear to be able to protect themselves and their families from invasion and mass murder. There's the problem in a nutshell. The US government has carried on an alliance with Mubarak. Not Egypt.
We never had any 'street cred' with Muslims. They don't like us and never will.
