prosperitybegins2012 fails to reconize responsibilities to false convictions of words. It does not say in the constitution that the church is separate from government per verbatim yet the intent and implication is evident as your tone in your statement as implying negative derogatory remarks to one who exposes facts that have and are hidden from the populace's knowledge. In the action of exposing these hidden flaws, Assange is exposing a truth. Your negative implications are exposing you to your fears of that knowledge. Hey Homer is about to start.

Let us keep in mind that our best polciy for averting war amongst ourselves, as handed down to us by the leadership of this world is called M.A.D. That is the best they could do after these thousands of years. Eishenhower discovered with U-2 flights knowledge that gave him the ability to ignore any agressive movements to communisum and commimited U.S. to hold ground against aggression. This allowed him to build our transportation structures.Highways and by ways giving us an edge on free market expansion that communism would not be able to compete with in near future. All went well until Nixion in 1969 decided to ignore Eiesenhower's advice and invaded Cambodia. Since that time imperalism has been advocated by right wing agendas up to and including Busch's adminastration, to our demise. It is knowledge of each other as foe or friend that our survival requires. M.A.D. will eventually lead us to suicide of our species. Assange is not the first that advocated knowledge to the populace for the purpose of averting disastors. Prior to W.W.2 many tried to warn of the impending disastors that were about to befall humanity. Including Eienstien. All to be ignored and knowledge was to be diverted by right wing ideologies to the worlds demise. Notice any similarities?
Have you ever noticed that Eisenhower's strategy worked and communism fell without firing a shot betwixt the opponets.Wall comes tumbling down as Americans now cry out to build another. Seeking to divert knowledge of our friends and foes as well as ourselves to each other. Suspicions and ignorance to spawn, germinating the seeds of our demise. Time has come to put this merry-go-round ideologies behind us, seek our maturity as a speciecs worthy of survival.

Thanks god for Wikileaks, actually an awesome truthful news telling organization. However, in most fascist countries like America, telling the truth is some kind of anti-democratic, treasonous act.

What I hope for in 2011 is that we all recognize the full blown Class War we have here, and unite, both left and right to take the giant corporations to their knees. Especially the banksters, the war profiteers, the oil corporations and health insurance corporations. I have a dream...

The context of the wikileaks coverage tells us a lot about our press and freedoms - For example NYTimes one of the sources of Wikileaks cables has been very economical in invetigating the wikileaks! The Guardian has been the most prolific in reporting on the content of the leaks. Tech Blogs have had the most interesting debates and coverage. This KBucket (Knowledge Bucket) page has organized the coverage by source - http://www.kbucket.com/main/view_kbucket/35

by curse914 December 31, 2010 10:26 PM EST --- Are you implying that he is a terrorist? Although we should take the documents with a grain of salt, they must have some validity to cause such a visceral reaction from the Government and Bank Of America, for instance...

This is a good observation and there is merit to your belief. At first with all the confusion surrounding the leaks how could anyone be sure how to feel about Mr. Assange? In my opinion he just doesn't hold-up under scrutiny.

How would you like to be the Iranian fencing champion who was outted by Assange as an American informant? Do you think Julian cares if the man is alive or dead?

Do you think Julian cares if Julian is alive or dead? Of course he does; and he is trying to protect his own freedom by threatening to release more information if any country tries to arrest him.

Whose life is more important the Fencing Champion's or Mr. Assange's? Nelson Mandela and John Kennedy are examples of heroes. This guy is just another media-*****. A worthless hacker and extortionist completely lacking in personal responsibility.

"A storage facility housing Yemen's radioactive material was unsecured for up to a week after its lone guard was removed and its surveillance camera was broken, a secret U.S. State Department cable released by WikiLeaks revealed Monday. "Very little now stands between the bad guys and Yemen's nuclear material," a Yemeni official said on January 9 in the cable."

Why is TSA worried about underwear bombs? (Well, other than the hopeful chance that Tammy Banovac will come rolling thur their check point.) Anwar al Awlaki may already have his hands on this stuff. If he didn't before WikiLeaks - he likely does by now thanks to Assange.

Assange has more to release and the Romanian have made this guy a hero? The author of the article says this is interesting information, which it may be in some macabre way, but I wonder how many people have died, or will be killed, before all this information is released for no real reason that I can understand. Julian Assange is the Jerry Springer of the internet and the word journalist isn't an easy fit.
