Well, only the Americans who stay are going to have to repay with taxes the trillions of $$$ this administration stole ove these last eight years. I''d rather not pay for a sunk ship, as Bush said, "This sucker''s going down" - Reply to this comment
- If the media was fair and balanced, you would hear about:
- Obama''s actual connection to Ayers and his 3 different stories on that connection
- Obama''s connection to Tony Rezco
- Obama''s connection and relationship with Father Phleager and Rev Wrigtht (Black Liberation Theology)
- Obama''s early involvement with the New Party
- The fact that there are at least two lawsuits against Obama to provide his actual birth certificate (I personally
think he probably is natural born, but the news media has not reported the fact that there are lawsuits-not
even Fox...If there was a lawsuit filed against McCain for whatever cause it would be all over the media)
- His corrupt association and funding of ACORN
- Obama has benifitted by the meltdown of the financial networks--if the media would report the rout cause of
this which Obama and his party have their fingerprints all over this--then Obama should have slid in the polls
- His utter lack of any notable accomplishment as a state and US Senator
- His lying on his record of abortion and his many, many policy reversals from the primary to the general
election
I cannot believe that America is about to elect this person. I believe with every ounce of my being that if even half of the dirt on Obama were to be reported this would be a landslide!!! - Reply to this comment
- If we were a Christian nation, and I say "IF", we would take care of one another as that is our duty and according to the Bible , true religion is to care for the widow, the orphan, and the poor. But big business has been trying to dump that back onto the individual - OK maybe business should not have to pay for healthcare - I can see their point. But since low wages barely allow individuals an existence, they are completely unable to afford insurance (which is a for profit industry). Thus if we cannot afford it individually and we don''t support non-government assistance and big business wants out of the insuracne providing business, then we as a nation must come up with a solution. The only solution to ensure everyone gets healthcare is some form of non-profit quasi-government entity to pay for healthcare. Government contributes and so do individuals. If it is nonprofit, we save on marketing expense, CEO and officer overhead, and we do not have to pay for sharholder profits and associated shareholder costs. That alone will bring down prices. It is where we need to start to seek a solution.

- Let me get this right, we bailout Wall St. to the tune of 700 Billion, give AIG 85 billion and they send their execs to a plush spa and European hunting trips, but any mention of helping the people, garnishes warnings from some of our politicians. What the heck is happening here, does this sound strange to anyone else?

- Healthcare is not a right it is a service that you can purchase. There is no law and nothing in the constitution saying healthcare and coverage are a right.

I''''m sure alot of people could use the money, but I look at my two year old and think he should not have to pay back a debt on money spent by other people. Also if they give away this money you will find yourself in an even more dire situation come spring. THe govt'''' needs to back off and let the economy adjust itself. If people loose alot of money it is a shame but the fact is that would mean values (of houses stocks ect) were artifically inflated.

- sending out stimulus checks is a stupid idea. If people want to spend money get an extra job. The govt'''' does not need to be sending citizens money, it is bad enough that they bailed out the banks. If they want to give people money back increase tax cuts for the middle class. This way you get back based on what you pay in. There is no such thing as a free ride and having money to spend on Christmas gifts is not a right.

- Well, if the percentage of taxes are going to increase in ordter to pay for this nation''s debt, i think they need to take out more taxes from the upperclassmen such as celebrities. Its rediculous how much they can make with only working for a few months to a year and then take time off. Its nice that they do charities, but I don''t think they should earn more than somebody that actually risks their lives everyday to save others.

- McCain is an honorable man, a hero that has earned deep respect with many Americans. All people must understand that he is tested, he is experianced, & he qualified to be President, and that a man such as John McCain is better suited to lead our country out of war properly, out of debt with the economy, and out of terrors ways, If you have any sense of right and wrong it is time to realize that John McCain is our only right choice.

McCain has experience in Backing Bush 100% in the Iraq fiasco, MORE than 90% in the present economic situation, and in addition, he spent less tghan a week as a POW before caving in to the Vietcong and giving them military information in exchange for injuries he received when his plane was shot down.
There are pictures of him in his hospital bed in Vietnam , 4 days after being captured, showing absolutely no signs of torture.
I do not fault McCain so much for caving in as I do for using his POW status as a blank check for his political career.
Many, if not most, people would give in to torture in situations like that, BUT, no true hero would sell his honor and integrity for political gain.
As for keeping us out of terrorist%u2019s ways, McCain/Bush policies have created more terrorists than existed before they/we invaded Iraq. - Reply to this comment
- While at it isn''t there a bipartisan investigation on this colosal financial mismanagement and possible illegal activities. It seems both sides are not that keen in such measures. Someone ought to be held responsible considering the impact of this deliberate catastrophe that has crippled all economic activities right down to buying basic essentials

- If Obama wins, I''''ll have so much fun laughing while his supporters eventually realize that they will also be raked into his plan to raise taxes on everyone and engorge the government programs for those at the bottom of the food chain who never had any intention of improving themselves, but instead demand more of the same from the government. I also hope all of you lose your jobs and end up groveling in the street. The economy will implode under an Obama regime with a leftist Dem dominated Congress behind him. Also, watch out for the Constitution being eroded.

- My wife and I are in our mid 70s. I sure hope what little money we have saved will last us until the end. We have always tried to live within our means. But when they get through taxing us to pay for all of the pork and bailouts, the government may take all of our savings. It''s pretty scary.

- What a shame. Obama hasn''t even won yet and the democrats are using the economy to try to push through another welfare handout. Talk about trying to buy votes. Can we really afford this?
