Comments on: Campaigns Battle Over "Joe The Plumber"
McCain, Obama Continue Talking About Joe Wurzelbacher From Ohio; Meanwhile, He Reveals He Doesn't Have A License
- How is Obama going to cut taxes for 95% of Americans when only 65% of that 95% actually pay in to taxes?
Don''t you think that when he raises taxes for the 5% who have busted their butts to get where they are they (the big corporations) are going to raise prices to make up for this tax increase? Think about it; a gallon of milk costs $2.50 now but when he increases taxes for the dairy farms (because they all make over $250,000) they are going to increase prices on that gallon of milk so now it''s going to cost $12.50. The big corporations aren''t going to feel it as much as the little people because all people need the basic necessities and have to pay the price to support their families.
Where is he going to come up with the money for this supposed health care plan? Is it going to come from the tax increase he imposes on the top 5%? No, it''s going to come from the 95% of society that he says he ISN''T going to increase taxes on. It''s simple economics....you have to get the money from somewhere and the top 5% aren''t going to sit by quietly while their hard earned money is taxed so Obama can "spread the wealth". Wealth is not an entitlement, it is earned. - Reply to this comment
- So let the State and local officials along with the FBI do their work lib. Just because most of the Battle Ground States have Democrat Secretary of State doesent mean anything........

You''re too stupid to discuss anything with.
You ignore facts to pursue lies and fallacy. keep making up your lies, and keep trying to convince yourself they''re true.
Good luck with that. - Reply to this comment

Just like under Clinton when our economy boomed, inflation and unemployment dropped like rocks, average pay for EVER working class went up, AND our national debt was being paid off?
Sign me up for that plan!!! - Reply to this comment
- My god Palin is STILL brining up "Joe the Plummer" at her rally today...even after good ol'' Joe was discredited. I''m sure we''ll be hearing about "Joe the acoustical ceiling installer" or "Joe the used car salesman" before this election is over. Grasping at straws is what I call it.

- Were not talking about people that receive a voter registration card lib. This is stricly focused on same day registration, same day early voting that ACORN has been sponsoring across the country.
Posted by hillaryin012 at 11:39 AM : Oct 17, 2008
ACORN is bound by federal law to turn in ALL voter registrations they receive.
When they turn them in, they are turned in under three separate piles: "Good", "Incomplete", or "Suspicious".
If they get one and VERIFY it to be legitimate, it goes into the "good" pile.
If they get one and CANNOT VERIFY it to be legitimate, (wrong address, phone number, zip code, etc), it goes into the "incomplete" pile.
If it''s from Mickey Mouse, the Dallas Cowboys, or some other OBVIOUS fraud, it goes into the "suspicious" pile.
And THAT is how they are turned in. Now if the government agency, usually a county election agency, registers the "suspicious" pile, even after being WARNED BY ACORN that they believe them to be fraudulent, how is that ACORN''s fault? - Reply to this comment
- For weeks before the presidential election, the gurus of public opinion polling were nearly unanimous in their findings. In survey after survey, they agreed that the coming choice between President Jimmy Carter and Challenger Ronald Reagan was "too close to call." A few points at most, they said, separated the two major contenders.
But when the votes were counted, the former California Governor had defeated Carter by a margin of 51% to 41% in the popular vote%u2014a rout for a U.S. presidential race. In the electoral college, the Reagan victory was a 10-to-l avalanche that left the President holding only six states and the District of Columbia

- This whole Joe the Plumber saga is a real hoot!
1. Joe is NOT a licensed plumber.
2. Joe is a relative of Keating, of the Keating 5, the S&L scandal that cheated little old ladies out of their life savings, and McCain was ONE of the FIVE "Keating 5".
3. Joe actually does NOT have any specific plan to buy his boss''s business.
4. Joe doesn''t have enough money to buy his boss''s business, even if he did have a plan, and neither McCain''s nor Obama''s tax plan will have any effect on that.
5. Joe''s boss''s plumbing business does NOT make enough money to have to pay higher taxes under Obama''s plan. In fact, he would pay LESS under Obama''s plan than under McCain''s.
6. Joe would pay LESS taxes under Obama''s plan than he would under McCain''s plan, and Joe had to admit it yesterday on TV.
7. Joe hasn''t even paid the taxes he does owe!
And now, ladies and gentlemen, in lieu of actual help for the middle class, McCain gives you... Joe the Plumber!!! - Reply to this comment
- Like I said lib, the worst is yet to come on the economy. Your Messiah will get the blame for it and your party will lose the congress in his first term.
You think allot of jobs have left this county now? Just wait........
Posted by hillaryin012 at 11:36 AM : Oct 17, 2008
They only left because Bush was trying to "support" the global economy, instead of worrying about "home first".
Republicans HATE AMERICA - it''s a fact. - Reply to this comment
- By the way if you are so worried about fair you shouldn''''t be voting for Obama. Wealth redistribution is not fair it does pander to the middle class.
A fair tax system would be a flat rate tax sytem you pay the same percentage of your income bo matter how much you make.
Posted by Mccain08NC at 11:31 AM : Oct 17, 2008
That''s EXACTLY what I want!!
No more tax breaks for those that can afford the most expensive tax attorney''s!!
One rate for all!! - Reply to this comment
- The "Joe the Plumber" schtick points out an interesting fact...with John McCain as president we would have no change - our economic policy would be the same failed trickle-down that we''ve had under our current president. Is that what people really want?
I think that most of those republicans posting on these boards are the kind of people who care less about the well being of the middle-class in the US. God knows that the republican party does not. - Reply to this comment
- You might want to fact check before you call some one a liar the polls showed Carter having a double digit lead going into the final denate in October. Regan erased that lead and wn by about 1 or 2 points if I remember correctly.

Thats exactly right. The media down played Regan so bad his poll numbers were down. We all know what happened next.
Nixon got his win from the "Silent Majority" he called it.
Posted by hillaryin012 at 11:29 AM : Oct 17, 2008
So post the polls to PROVE your point, that YOU made, that showed Nixon and Reagan were going to lose!! - Reply to this comment
- Its the truth. Ohio is a mess with this stuff and the FBI is involved now. No Verification, No Vote.
Posted by hillaryin012 at 11:26 AM : Oct 17, 2008
A registered voter, with a voter registration card that says "John Quincy Adams", is disqualified because his drivers license says "John Q. Adams" and therefore "doesn''''t match".
What an election stealing villain.
I guess you find it perfectly acceptable that the GOP is disenfranchising 200,000 registered voters for the tiniest of "infractions" such as those above, right? - Reply to this comment
- Jimmy Carter thought he was going to get 8 years too lib. The worst is yet to come on the American Economy. Obamma will get the blame for it just like Carter. Probably lose the congress over it too.
Posted by hillaryin012 at 11:24 AM : Oct 17, 2008
I think after what Reagan, Bush Sr, and Bush Jr, did to our nation, they republicans will have a VERY TOUGH time EVER winning the white house again.

I saw a very childish McCain stick his tongue out at an adult. He created Joe the plumber, Dug palin out from under some frozen rocks and complained that ''Everytime I call Obama a name, ''he'' calls me two names. ("Obama spends more on negative ads than I do") - Reply to this comment

Last I checked, Carter wasn''t in the 1972 or 1984 elections!!
"Nixon won 1972 in a landslide, and so did Reagan in 1984!!!
They took almost EVERY STATE in the country - including NY, MA, and CA!!
NO poll said they were going to lose!!

- See you looking at it very narrow minded do you really think that all he is going to do is raise personal taxes to pay for his wealth redistribution.
Obama has said he is going to close all coorporate loop holes and make sure these coorporations are paying the full 35% of taxes. So yes this will be passed to the consumer.
But hey just remember Robin Hood Obama gave you 500.00!!!!!!!!!
Posted by Mccain08NC at 11:19 AM : Oct 17, 2008
In 2002, GE paid 11.2% corporate income tax, thanks to TENS OF BILLIONS in tax breaks.
"Joe the Plumber''s" boss probably paid 35%.
You call that "fair"? - Reply to this comment
- So wouldnt you say jobs are the main issue in the US? How is the messiah going to keep business open when he''''s chasing them out with higher taxes and caps on the owners wealth?
Posted by hillaryin012 at 11:18 AM : Oct 17, 2008
MORE jobs have left this country in the last 8 years, than at ANY OTHER PERIOD in our nation''s history, and you''re talking about what Obama is going to do?!?! - Reply to this comment
