Oh and that tort reform bill he touted as evidence that he''s bucked his party - the GOP added sweeteners to get the votes for it to pass, and 18 Dems voted for it with 26 Dems voting against it.

The allure for Barack was probably the part which cracked down on predatory lawyers who take most of the money awarded for themselves and leave little to the plaintiff - like if you were to ask Barack where he stands on negotiating a national settlement to asbestos claims (the part of the bill that wouldn''t have garnered enough votes to pass), is Barack really going to side with big business over those who are now permanently ill because of corporate negligence? Somehow I don''t think so . . .

Mr. Obama wrote a letter to the Treasury Secretary, allegedly putting himself on record that subprime loans were dangerous and had to be dealt with. This is revealing; if true, it indicates Sen. Obama knew there was a problem with subprime lending -- but was unwilling to control it.

All these media have almost concluded that Obama would win the election on Nov 7 based on the poll results to date. They have not forgotten 2 crucial facts against Obama to become the President: his race and lack of experience.

Besides his race factor, his lack of experience (shown in debates) has been a big obstacle for him to become the US President.

If he is elected as the first black US President, the American people especially many white people can surely say goodbye to one term "superpower". The consequence of electing an unqualified black people as the head of superpower will be huge.

Not even Joe (six pack abs?) the Plumber can unclog the toilet this is McCain''s campaign.

Obama''s a terrorist to Republicans because they are terrified of obsolescence!

Once this intelligent, well-spoken and frankly impressive Democrat remakes government for the betterment of all, the Republicans'' appeal will fade like the mirage it is.

---"But Obama continues to do a masterful job talking directly about and to the middle class."---

I think what Barack does well is show empathy by talking about how so many more Korean cars come here than ours go over there, but then doesn''t actually follow through with any particular plan to change the situation - Is he suggesting he knows how to make the big three more competitive? Is he going to impose tariffs to balance out the trade? Is he going to go over there and market US cars?

Like it''s almost like he gets points just for seeing the problem because it''s not even on McCain''s radar, but it''s like he''s not being pushed by anybody to come up with solutions to those problems or something (?)

He made reference to a plan of his to impose taxes on companies that ship jobs overseas, but he already tried to pass that bill through Congress early in the Primaries and it didn''t gain support, and got panned as ineffectual by his even his own supporters.

I wonder whether maybe Barack''s promising more to people than he can actually deliver (?) Kind of like how he claims he''s going to increase spending AND not raise taxes AND balance the budget (?)

He just seems to me like such a master at the political game . . .

Give me cool, calm, centered and focused every time. Obama doesn''t get mad and he just keeps moving in the direction that he needs to go to get the job done. Nobody is going to walk all over him and he has no need to walk all over anyone else. He just sticks to the point and gets the job done----like he did--again--in this last debate. Obama gives me confidence that he can deal with big issues and with crisis because he''s able to keep his ego out of the mix and focus on the problem and the solution.
