WhatIThink: archiebunker2''s replies are the modern equvalent of "I have lots of friends that are (insert a minority group)" and you are right, it''s generational and they don''t see themselves. I am so happy we appear to be moving forward as a country even if we have to drag these folks with us kicking and screaming.

Can anyone please tell me what is the "Truth" about Obama? That is all that I am hear "We don''t know the real truth about his relationships". People are so against Obama, that if they heard the truth they still would not believe it. If this Ayers guy is who and what everyone is saying he is, he would be truly under the jail right now. The FBI,CIA would have been all over this guy. Believe me when I say that Obama has truly been vetted. More than any other canidate has been. They vetted him for more that four years.

McCain should thank his lucky stars that Obama didn''t agree to a series of town meetings if McCain''s performance in last night''s debate is any indication of his abilities. Today''s Gallup tracking poll (taken before the debate) has Obama up by 11% points (52% to 41%). McCain knows he''s losing and his anger shows.

I must admit that Obama looked better last night. But We need experience and trust! not a "used car salesman". Check out PitbullPalin.org to show your vote.

So Archibunker 2 leav es with this comment:
"I''''m getting off here for a couple of hours. Maybe when I get back on there will be some people with common sense and not these radical libersl free loaders that will not do a day work and expect people that work to feed them."

Isn''t that the same codeword jargon for blacks that has been around since the 60''s (along with "no-account")? So now we know, he really is a closet racist. He outted himself. All his selfrighteous, I am only against Obama because of .... not because he''s black" is revealed ***.

Sen. John McCain hobbled about on the stage like Quasimodo. I felt sorry for him%u2500 too old and sounding more and more desperate like King Lear in his last act! You can feel his destitute, his seething contempt for Sen. Obama''s success. McCain exaggerated his points and even told outright lies. He should have directed his anger at his fellow Republican George W. Bush who slandered him and stole the 2000 Republican primary from him.
George Bush has ruined many lives of Americans, including John McCain%u2019s.

proisrael I was with you until the end of your post. The ONLY legitimate reason for supporting Hillary over Obama is her experience and in fact I was first a John Edwards, then a Hillary supporter BECAUSE WE DIDN''T THINK OBAMA WAS LIBERAL ENOUGH. How''s that for rich?

We came late and not easily to the Obama camp and happen to be white, so don''t toss us all into a pot. We''ve listened to the man with an open mind and he brought us around. He definitely has a better plan than McCain. And for that reason, I still have to question the motives of someone who supported Hillary''s positions goign with McCain just because of the experience.

archibunker2:
I have to object to the "guilt by association"... I think McCain has associated with a lot of questionable characters in his time. I think you cannot find a national politician that hasn''t been in a room with someone of lesser character... it comes with the territory. Under those terms we should never elect a major politician president. Frankly, I didn''t have a lot of personal respect for Bill Clinton. He was a philanderer.

That having been said, I really DON''T CARE if these are people I want to have over for dinner or as my next door neighbors. What I want and NEED for myself and my kids, for my parents and my own retirement is someone who has a plan to fix (not further break) my country. I have 2 (TWO) choices: McCain and Obama. And McCain''s plan SUCKS. So why in the world would I vote for him? And why would I not vote for Obama if I like his plan just because of things his minister said or because of rumors of gay *** (unless of course I am anti-homosexual)?

MARTIAL LAW was declared in the House of Representatives, September 28. Have you heard this in the news? No? This is a fact on the House of Representatives website.

WhatIthink is right. Any time someone stands up and says "I voted for Hillary but I "can''t" vote for Obama" it stinks of racism whether it is or it isn''t.

I''''m sure he is. He is intelligent and he knows what is going on. He stopped me from buying stock a year ago because he knew it was bad and he also told me it started under Jimmy Carter and has really never slowed down. I voted for Clinton and even though his policies we had good times but his actions has caused a lot of this. Bush has blundered it also. I think McCain is different than Bush and is for country first. I remember McCain''''s debate with Bush in 2000 and he is not as close to Bush as you think. It is time for all of us to really study this and vote right. The last time I voted for a Republican was for Reagan in 80 and 84 but I going to vote Republican this time.

Bill there is no way he can lower taxes and give you what this guy says. I''''m not a college grad (only two years) but have this friend that is a stock broker. He advised me that we may have a buyers market if McCain is elected. Said he predicts great things ahead for all the people if McCain is elected. He told me he feels if Obama is elected it will all fall apart. This man is the most honest stock broker I have ever seen and has always been right advising me since I started using him in 1981. You and I both are older than these kids and have been around and they think they can give us good advise. I''''m in my 70''''s.

Lemme guess, your broker is a republican? Might as well be Sean Hannity saying McCain''s plan is better.

Do you realize the economy is crashing? How much of this is the fault of Bill Ayers? Do you know of a thing called PRIORITIES? Have you really been drawn into GOP dirty politics for so long that you can''''t think straight?

i found joh mccain''s remark that everyone said was something NEW to his plan seems to be very similar to an article in USA TODAY tuesday 7 OCT ''08.
"some countrywide mortgage holders get help", b of a agreement to modify loans settles predatory lending case by stephanie armour of USA TODAY.
b of a says it will restructure loans for countrywide customers holding subprime mortgages and option adjustable rate loans . . .
his idea seems to me to have been an idea he just ran across in the newspaper before the debate, and now it is tagged as being HIS idea.
i was suprised that all the post debate spinnes and comentators did not catch this item. . .

The most salient point that came across last night is their different approaches to healthcare. McCain attacks Obama''s healthcare plan as a move to nationalize healthcare coverage, and while that is partially true, I do not think it is such a bad idea (unless you are ideologically tied to certain ideas). We all know that insurance rates have gone up through the years and it is a problem. McCain''s healthcare plan attracts voters with a $5000 tax credit to purchase health insurance, but he fails to mention that he plans to tax health benefits....smart accounting, but a bad idea. I cannot help but find that it is like taking money from my left hand to give it to my right. Also, it will not only do nothing against the rising costs of health coverage (since there is no downward price pressure), but also mean insanely high deductibles. The thing is Obama wants to introduce an accessible, fairly priced government subsidized healthcare plan with favorable rules and baseline coverage standards, while still offering choices between private or government options. Let%u2019s say everyone is selling an apple for 2 dollars, if you start selling an apple for 1 dollar, you are definitely getting more busines. The other sellers will be forced to either lower their prices, or offer better apples. I think Obama%u2019s plan will impose standards for coverage & insert downward price pressure on the insurance sector. It just makes sense.

archibunker2 - stop with the lies. If you are going to state your opninion, fine but stop lying. What do you really believe? That Obama is a gun toting Muslim who can%u2019t wait to have us all on prayer mats and bombed by Muslims? Come on. Think for yourself instead of what the rethuglicans have told you to think. Question, do they tell you what to eat also?

The rhetoric on both sides is the same. I have seen photo shop pics of Palin in an American flag bikini holding a hunting rifle. BOTH sides lie it''s the same every presidential election. The Media plays a big part in it. This year I have noticed though I have noticed a much more lopsided favoritism towards Obama from the media and democrats in general. One example is the Darling organization of past and present democrats called "ACORN". Obama has been involved with this organization. The Democrats tried to insert a provision for acorn in the original mortgage bailout bill but got caught. This Organization is under investigation in 11 states for outright voter registration fraud. But you will have trouble finding a mention of it on CNN, CBSNEWS, ABCNEWS, MSNBC, and ECT. They do not want to put anything up that would be embarrassing to Obama or Democrats that have been involved with this organization.

I am 61 and in fear of the changes Obama will bring to the country. If he is elected and with his changes our founding fathers will roll over in their graves.

Yeah, he''s proposing some pretty scary changes like

1. Healthcare for all
2. Lowering middle class taxes
3. Bringing troops home from a misguided war.

Whew! Scary stuff I know! How will we EVER survive THAT!!!
