CBSNews.com Analysis: Alaska Governor Turns In Strong Performance After Shaky Weeks But Biden, Democrats Retain Edge
- Palin''s winks were annoying to me and inappropriate. If it''s anything, it''s not presidential. Our country is in serious crisis. Her winks made the debate like anything but serious. Can you go to an interview, winking to your interviewer???

- "And that%u2019s the major reason Biden walked away with the edge in this debate. He showed much more mastery on the issues"
Since when did being a convincing, bold-face liar equate to mastery of the issues? - Reply to this comment
- To Katie Couric et al at CBS news. The reason our founding fathers put Freedom of the Press into our constitution was to WATCHDOG the government. Any journalist that lets their own political views seep into their reporting is undermining that freedom. Whoever we choose to be the highest in our land, we the people deserve to have interviewed by the highest in the land. And sadly, that is not CBS or Katie.

- The hatred and anger I see from the left side of the aisle defies description. I could go ballistic about Joe Biden''''s 14 or so factual errors/lies and his condescendsion, but I don''''t think it is necessary to do so.

They think the last two elections were stolen from them and for a time thought this one was slipping away from them, and still could, but it was suppose to be a slam dunk for them this year and they are just a little nervous. - Reply to this comment
- I think Sarah Palin did a powerful job in the debate. She is knowledgeable, articulate and direct. Those of you who are posting your usual hate messages about her I''m sure were hoping she''d trip up. Well, she didn''t. Get over it.

- In honor of Joe Biden''''s planned visit to my High School in Virginia, I have just made a donation to the Obama Biden Campaign.
I am tired of the trickle down policies of Ronald Reagan, and the Bushes, that John McCain would like to carry on. I am tired of the Republican party trying to scare people with the threat of higher taxes. The real picture is that the Republicans have given us record budget deficits. We finally had a budget surplus under Bill Clinton, and now George Bush 2 with the republican congress has obliterated it. I am voting for the change America needs that Obama and Biden will bring us.
I urge others to stand up to the fanatical lies, and hate mongering that the republicans are trying to spread, and find out the truth for yourself. We can see who the real elitists are, the ones with too many houses and cars to keep up with. Virginians, Floridians, and others across this country, it is time to turn our government back into one that actually means something.

- RevOWrightA Since John McCain excluded Sarah Palin from discussions on their campaign activities in Michigan (Sarah said she read about it,) what does that say about his treatment of women not seeking Sarah Palin''s opinion -- does it say he values her opinion? He left her out of that thought process. John McCain''s own Vice Presidential nominee -- not in the inner circle of decision making. Sounds to me like John McCain is still a ranking member of the GOOD OLD BOYS NETWORK -- because he''s still devaluing a women''s opinion -- can''t trust her judgement on important campaigning issues. I call that sexist at its best. And I''m a 63 year old woman who''s had it with fluff ball interviews. Even John McCain doesn''t want to hear what Sarah Palin thinks -- I call that sexist. Does this mean John McCain knows Sarah Palin is an airhead and he doesn''t want to solicit her opinion about the campaign. John McCain is a sexist. Enough fluff balls -- she''s in the majors -- lets throw some hard balls. I would suspect all the networks would do a life - unfiltered interview with Sarah Palin.

- A LOT OF NEGATIVE COMMENTS TOWARD PALIN ARE MEAN AND IGNORANT AND HAVE NO SUBSTANCE. THE MORE IGNORANT COMMENTS FLY AROUND THE MORE OBAMA / BIDEN WILL GET LESS COOPERATION IF THEY WIN. UNLESS THESE PEOPLE JUST WANT THEM IN OFFICE, JUST BECAUSE.
