I nominate you as the "cut and paste voice" of the right wing distortion machine.
Yeah, hooray... you will win an election! - Reply to this comment
- hasnt every democrat promised to lower taxes on the middle class? why is this even a platform. Obama should just start out with "On taxes, that''ll be the usual" and everyone will just know that he is promising to cut taxes only to not follow through on that. What about his plan to raise the Social cecurity rate which employers match for each employee? Seems to me some employers might let go of a few employees there. What BS!

- I thought it odd when Joe "giggles" Biden was laughing uncontrolably on GMA with Diane Sawyer. I thought he had done a whip-it. Now, with an obvious brain injury he has, I think he was on the verge of total INSANITY that morning. He is NOT showing NORMAL behavior, certainly not for a V.P. Candidate.

- One heartbeat away from a Pres Biden? God help us!! "A three letter word, J-O-B-S". This is just SCARY! Is there something MEDICALLY WRONG with this CLOWN? Teddy Kennedy had his head examined explaining why he is INSANE. Ithink Joe Bidden should do the same. GO TO A DOCTOR JOE. There''s something TERRIBLY WRONG.

- It amazes me that the media is investigating "Joe the Plumber". Must be because he made the "Golden Child" reveal part of his real plan....SOCIALISM...spread the wealth. My butt, WHAT incentive will be there for people to strive for the best and make more money...hmm, TAXES. This country was founded on the belief of making oneself better, NOT RELYING on "Joe" to pay for it.
According to the top of this article, "CBS Evening News: Now Famous Ohio Man Owes Back-Taxes", WHO CARES at THIS moment? NOT ME....he asked a valid question and doesn''t deserve to have the media look into his personal and private business. Believe me, if he owes back taxes, the IRS already knows. And it isn''t CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN or FOX''s business.
Here is a little tip the media hasn''t told people.....you raise taxes on business'', GUESS WHAT? The everyday person will eventually have to pay it. The saying "*** rolls down hill!" Guess who is at the bottom of that hill? MIDDLE CLASS AMERICA. Business'' are in it for the profit. IF they pay more taxes, then they are going to raise their prices. Either way, we still have to fork the money over! I would rather have a fighting chance of getting the tax money back in April than in price hikes. - Reply to this comment
- I''ve heard from good sources that if you so much as get rude with the IRS on the phone, they put you on a "Tax Protester''s" list. I wonder if Joe just got himself on that list for his words/delinquency. LMAO

- Notice how the rich neocons are totally for the destruction of the middle class? Yet, they want us to think that Joe DUH PLUMMER (choke) is some kind of representative of the middle class.

- Does anyone think they could count how many people in this country identify with Joe The Plumber?
It is absolutely amazing to watch Senator Stinky and Senator Gafe slam this guy!
Hasn''t anyone informed them they''re slamming most of America? - Posted by gippybear
A small minority of the uninformed and the stupid undoubtedly think they can identify with Samjoe the plumber.
Luckily for all of us, you''re vastly outnumbered by the rest of us who see him as a crank determined to cut off his nose to spite his face in order that he can live in a fantasy world.
It is that fantasy, and the philosophy of unmitigated greed upon which it''s built, that is responsible for the current economic disaster.
And, btw, no one is attacking Samjoe. No one has to. All anyone has to do is point out the fact that he wants to vote against his own best interests...as well as the best interests of nearly all of the rest of us. - Reply to this comment
- They are not for school choice, not for origins choice, not for "charity" choice (vs paying the gvt to pay welfare recipiets). Why should anyone have to pay to charities when you could just send the gvt to a homeless person?

The more money common middle class tax payers keep, the more money they are going to spend as consumers and that is how they will keep your wealthy rear ends in line. Of course, we don''t want to keep the fat cats like Halliburton and Blackwater in business. Money doesn''t trickle down, the last eight years have proven that. Money trickles up. Again, proven over the last eight years. When consumers spend, businesses do fine. - Reply to this comment
- If a person gets to keep more of their wealth, not allow gvt to decide who is worthy of some of it, more people are able to spend more at small and large businesses who then ae able to grow their business and hire more people. Also, don''t you think that people could give more to their church and charities of THEIR OWN CHOICE rather than let the gvt decide who needs charity? Also, while people may abuse some charities (pretending they need money when they don''t), abuse of welfare is much more prevalent, I believe. No one is checking up on whether some people are actually needing welfare. I could be wrong, but it seems liberal are only for "choice" when it comes to abortion. They are not for school choice, not for origins choice, not for "charity" choice (vs paying the gvt to pay welfare recipiets). Why should anyone have to pay to charities when you could just send the gvt to a homeless person?

Samjoe the Plumber is poking you in the eye and you''re too ''slow'' to see it coming. John McCain is cheering him on.
Obama''s plan will benefit 95% of us. Most of us among the 95% know that. Actually, his plan will benefit the top 5% too, but it''s pointless to go into that with someone who can''t seem to grasp economic reality.
Some, like you and Samjoe, prefer to live in denial because you''re addicted to the Reaganomics fantasy that you''ll have a 7-figure income someday, and when that happens you won''t want to pay a little more in taxes.
Not that it matters. Obama is the next president, and even you will be happy to take the extra money. You''ll happily and quickly spend every cent of it too...making all of us richer. - Reply to this comment
- My (real) plumber''s name is Joe, too. He''s good, but if McCain''s trickery gets him a win, I''m firing Joe''sass. And THAT IS bad for the economy.

- I dont care what line Obama draws, or what crafty %''s he throws out, the current system will always have ways for people to hide money. For the record, Only once have my wife & I filed a tax return with a 6-digit income on it. - Posted by Mike_C_NH

There has never been a significant tax cut benefiting primarily the highest income recipients which did not result in an immediate recession. In fact, the ONLY way to avoid a recession when implementing a tax cut for the wealthiest is to more than offset it (in total dollars) with a tax cut for those further down the income scale. When you begin to understand that simple greed, and the immediacy of the greed impulse, is endemic to human nature, you will have begun to understand why each of the above is true.
As for hiding income, there is no implicit or explicit incentive in your favorite flat tax system to prevent that, unless you''re one of the airy-fairy pollyannas who think that a flat tax system will somehow bring an end to the greed inherent in human nature. We would still need the IRS to enforce the law.
Of course, if you want your flat tax to be levied only on retail sales, that would impact the top 5% even less. They wouldn''t have to pay any tax at all until they bought something...and they clearly wouldn''t have to spend as much, as a percentage of their income, as everyone else. That would be the ultimate socialism-for-the-rich scheme. - Reply to this comment
