- It is good to know that the contractor was honest enough to admit the breach.

- I suppose the 1988 gasing of the Kurds where over 8000 were killed was a figment of our imagination?

Iraq is actually 3 countries...combined together by the British after the Ottoman empire collapsed. I know you think facts are too complicated, but bare with me...the Kurds were trying to take over the upper region, which was formerly their country...Hussein stopped the revolt. Consider it Lincoln's response to Ft Sumner...btw...that is a Civil War reference...I know I have to type slowly for you - Reply to this comment

- looks like a lib hack cause the savior wanted new helicopters anyway...what better way to justify spending 2 billion on "new" helicopters then a security breach..the libs never cease to amaze me..

The inability to keep up with the facts and put put out a logical statement of the Republican sheep, actually doesn't shock me in the slightest bit. You haven't a clue in the world do you? How is LImewire a liberal hack retard? Are you aware that the helicopters were order by Bush and cancelled by Obama. Do you ever read anything or just live in the ostrich hut? - Reply to this comment

- It does not matter which country the IP adress was registered to, as those addresses can be faked, and manipulated.
What really matters is why the 'defense contractor' shared those files, it was treason. Defense contractors must realize that security is their number one priority... - Reply to this comment
- Iraq had no WMD. It was all lies to create an enemy so alot of $ could be made. While Dubya&Co bungled Iraq, the hadji's in A-stan got STRONGER. Why did Rumsfeld, Wolfowicz want to bomb Iraq right after 9/11? You people whine about Obama's chopper? We are in a fight right now that we ain't winning. Thanx Dubya& Friends. Give Pres. Obama a chance. All those Repubs care more about making him look bad and obstructing him rather than the American people. VOTE THEM OUT. Ohio, how BAD do you need to get screwed by the REPUKES before you get rid of them all? BOEHNER MUST GO!!!!

- Some of you need to get your facts straight:
1. Bush, not Obama, ordered the new helicopters.
2. Huge cost overruns triggered the review of the order.
3. Obama has publicly stated that he is satisfied with the helicopters currently in service.

- I have news for readers of this article. Just because the file was transferred to a computor with an I.P address registered in Iran doesn't mean that the final destination of the data files for Marine One went to that computor in Iran.
Hackers do have re-direction tools that can redirect the final destination to just about any other computor and I.P. without detection. This implies that someone from Israel, Russia, Germany, Italy, Argentina, China, Korea, Zairre, Sudan, or almost anywhere, could have been the final destination for the files.
The final destiny problem is very nebulous to identify, but breach itself is very easy to identify and prevent again.
We have to recognize that someone did intend to make the breach and did intend to execute the trackable destination routes to make us think it went to Iran. It could have went somewhere else.
Many who decide to steal document files over the internet, intend to lead us to places where no diplomatic missions exist to extend legal cooperation, with the intention of making us believe the trail is dead and cold....to discourage us from trying. - Reply to this comment
