President-Elect Picks Panel To Aid In New Agency Selections
- If Obama''s vetting of his administration bothers you, take solace in the fact that none of you wouldn''t be chosen if you applied anyway.

- The republicans who were defeated will spend all their time now trying to discredit those elected rather than working for the advancement of the United States and ensuring a decent future for our children and grandchildren. When you hear this kind of stuff, whether from a talk-radio host or a co-worker, remember what they stand for when you next go to the voting booth. The GOP has nothing to offer the US but politics designed to divide Americans and turn us against each other...the modern republican party should be shunned until those now in charge are long gone from the scene - forty years or more.

There is a probable difference between appointments and career positions -- this requirement to my understanding only applies to appointments. Such vetting will be done for all appointments requiring Senate confirmation making it wise for a president to check before congress or others do.

- This request is unconstitutional when made by a government employer. It has the obvious effect of chilling free speech. I hope the ACLU steps in here.

If this is to work for Obama personally he can request any information he wants, doesn''''t mean he will get it. If this is to work for the Federal Government this request is clearly illegal and being a Federal Employee himself as a U.S. Senator Obama should know better. Obama does not even have hiring authority, the Federal Government handles hiring through its own independent agency at which point Obama can interview candidates but he doesn''''t get to design questionnaires.

- Have a question for you. How are they going to know what I do or say on these blogs? How do they find out who you are when you have given fake names. I have been in the internet business since 1992, build computers and web pages, but still don''''t know how you can do it. Talked to my daughter and son in law, both graduates in computer science and the co owner of the internet service we run and he very intelligent college grad with three degrees and he doesn''''t know how they can do it. I do know I can check where something is coming from and have done that a couple of times but still didn''''t know. I think it would cost more than it would be worth. As far as I''''m concerned I will say what I want and don''''t care. I bet most people are that way. I also think it is illigal to do what you are talking about.
I have one

Its actually very easy to track you and know who you are. Your ISP knows how much you use their service down to the byte and which IP Address you were using at the time! Internet traffic is transmitted in packets which contain your IP address and the hardware address of the computer that created it called a MAC Address which identify you. You can try using a Proxy service but you still need to go through your ISP so whats the point. There are ways to hide but only from other locations, not your home! There is "nothing private" about the Internet. - Reply to this comment
- Wow....this from the candidate that wouldn''t release his college transcrips or papers. The double standard continues....

- I''m not sure I should post my true feelings - it could come to bite me. What kind of country have we become where your political viewpoints can be used against you by private companies? Where is the outrage? I don''t see it here.

This only means that most of the
volunteers that helped get this guy
elected would NEVER be able to work for him
(that includes his racist supporters
that post here)
and he wants to make sure of that.- Reply to this comment

- The Obama team is not scrutinizing Hillary Clinton to the same standards as other candidates. Even the most casual review of her character would disqualify her from any position. I couldn%u2019t trust anybody that would partner with a Clinton.

- Neocons are freaking out and Obama isn''t even sworn in yet. LOL What idiots! I would suggest they pay more attention to their own filthy backyard.

- I know I''''m old, I''''m going by what I hear other people say. For example in the barber shop full of people they were saying that she did not look as good as Laura Bush or Sarah Palin or McCain''''s wife. Different strokes for different people but you are in the minority on this one. I still run a business and deal with hundreds of people.

The expression "being Professional" means performing duties or jobs you may not necessarily agree with and doing them well. For example, should Hospitals screen Doctors and Nurses for their Political views, Web Postings and Blogs? If so this would imply that if a Neo-Nazi Skin-Head came into a Hospital with a serious injury the Doctor or Nurse may not treat them or mis-treat them because of their Political views. I don''t like anonymous Posting and there is really no such thing anyway, authorities know who you are! But average citizens can''t express views and hide behind Secret Service Protection like Obama so anonymity accomplishes the same thing and yes in Russia once they know who you are they kill you! - Reply to this comment
