Plus there are constant battles and lawsuits from environmental whackos fighting against windmills because some little birdie might fly into one.

Wind and Solar are nice, but not reliable enough or cheap enough, and will never provide 100% of our power.
We''re going to continue to need oil, natural gas, coal, and hydro-electric to meet our needs.

Obama is just another Pied Piper leading his ignorant followers off a cliff.

"What alternatives are you talking about, give use some specifics. Don''''t do us like Obama does???" Posted by scb1111_1

Solar panels on houses and wind farms are implemented largely in countries like Germany. Natural gas cars have been available for a couple of years from Honda. Iceland is using Hydrogen vehicles. Hybrid vehicles are available in many countries including the USA.

Barack Obama to shutdown all "dirty" coal power plants throughout America within two years??? There goes 58% of all the electrical power in America!!! Businesses closing down all around the country, millions laidoff and everyone sitting in the dark, no power for my computer to argue my points against this "nut-case"???

That''s okay because you would have been dead in 4 years from breathing in the toxic fumes from those "dirty coal plants." Besides, now they have a real reason to find a "cleaner" solution or go out of business. Sounds like a plan to me

RedVeg,
Alternatives like nuclear power like France uses?
Liberals want so bad to turn us into a European country like France, but they won''t let us build a new nuclear plant that could get us off of foreign oil.

Liberals talk out of both sides of their mouths.
Case in point: Obama.

"But with Obama''''s plan, we''''ll even more dependent on foreign oil in 4 years." Posted by HawkSprings

How do you figure that. I drive a car that gets 45 MPG. That is more than enough to eliminate our need for foreign oil, except of course that oil is a commodity and as such there really isn''t such a foreign or domestic destinction.

Either way, alternatives can be implemented as quickly and easily as drilling for more oil. Other countries have already developed and implemented more than enough technology to eliminate the percentage of our oil that we do not currently produce domestically. That means that we could remove ourselves from the commodity market and keep it internally if we chose to do so; although I am not necessarily suggesting that. The point is that since the technology needed already exists, it can be implemented with the same or less resources as drilling.

So far, for his administration Obama has been picking old has-beens from the Clinton administration, and senators who have been in Washington since the 1970''s, back when Carter was president.

How much more Change can we stand?
